How to install the boiler correctly
It is not enough just to buy a boiler, it still needs to be installed correctly. If the installation is performed poorly, at some point the boiler may fall or stop working. Gas heaters are best left to professionals, and many can hang an electric boiler. There is nothing difficult here, the main thing is to prepare well and install the device according to the instructions. The advantage of self-installation is saving on payment for the wizard and the ability to remove and hang the boiler at any time.
Preparing to install
Initially, you should decide on the future location of the appliance. You can choose it, taking into account the following recommendations:
- To the boiler should be free access. So it is easier to trace whether it is on and set the temperature mode.
- The distance to the place of water intake should be minimal.
- If the height of the boiler is large enough, make an indent of attachment from the ceiling, otherwise it will not be possible to hang the water heater. The distance between the ceiling and dowels is chosen a little more than the distance between the attachment point on the hooks and the top of the boiler.
- The device is attached to the bearing wall. It will support the weight of the boiler with a full tank of water, unlike the wall of plasterboard.
The water heater should be installed vertically or horizontally according to its type, it is not necessary to install a horizontal boiler vertically and vice versa. Do not mount the device on the floor. It is advisable to position the water heater above the water flow point.
There are some requirements for the plumbing system:
- Pipes must be in good condition.
- The wiring must withstand the load, and the socket must be located next to it to turn on the device.
Before installing the boiler, prepare all the necessary tools and make a marking for fasteners on the wall.
Installation of a water heater
The installation of the cumulative boiler includes the creation of a secure attachment to the wall and the supply of water pipes. If there is no outlet nearby, then you need to install it. Additional wiring is not required, except for the old wiring, which is in poor condition. Simultaneously with the boiler it is not necessary to plug other electrical appliances into one outlet.
First, drill or perforator make holes in the wall under the dowel. Their number depends on the number of attachment points. Then the dowels are inserted, the hooks are hung. For installation of boilers over 50 l only anchor bolts are used.
Further installation occurs in the following sequence:
- The introduction of the boiler in the plumbing system. A valve is installed at the device inlet to relieve excess pressure. It usually comes with flexible hoses. If not, then buy separately. After the valve is a cold water hose. Some craftsmen do not recommend using flexible hoses to prevent damage to them under high pressure. All connections are well sealed. To drain the water when servicing the boiler, an additional tee is installed in front of the shut-off valve, to which a tap is connected.
- Connect the boiler outlet to the hot pipe.
- Check tightness. Release the air from the tank and fill it with water. At the same time they see that nothing leaks anywhere.
- Electrical connection. If everything is done correctly, then after switching on to the network on the boiler a red light will come on. In no case can not turn on the appliance without water!
- Regulation of temperature.
The time spent on work depends on the pipe material. If the pipes are metal, then time and effort will be needed more than if they were metal-plastic.
Do not drain water from the tank, even if you do not use the boiler!
The appliance is installed smoothly, not at an angle, otherwise the heating element may not be completely covered with water, and after a while it will “burn out”.
Installation features
Connecting the flow boiler to the water supply is similar. The main difficulty lies in laying the wiring, as the power of the device is 5 kW or more. Plug it into a grounded outlet. The cross section of the electrical wire is chosen taking into account the current that is necessary for the appliance.
Installation of electric water heaters does not require any special knowledge, it is possible for almost everyone. Pay attention to the preparatory work, so as not to redo all over again.
