What is the most important part of the house? Perhaps the answer to this question is also not obvious, as well as the question about the main organ in the human body. The complex is important here. Only the correct functioning of all the components will allow the whole to carry out its tasks normally, and the appearance of small defects leads to consequences that affect everything else. This statement is always true. So, for example, if the roof began to leak, then over time this will lead to the appearance of mold and the destruction of the first truss system, and then the walls themselves. Works on repairing the roof should be carried out in a timely manner, and it is necessary to monitor its serviceability constantly. Repair work will be somewhat different depending on the roofing material used, and in this regard, soft roofing is at the same time one of the simplest and most complex options. General description of the problem

In order to successfully solve a problem, it must be disassembled and understood in detail. In the case of a soft roof, it lies in the fact that this roofing material does not have its own rigidity and is prone to change its physical properties when the temperature drops. If you try to express the idea somewhat easier, then the soft roof has to be repaired more often than others, because it cracks in the cold or is torn from the wind. Even a branch fallen from a tree can damage such a roof, so seasonal repairs of a soft roof are quite common, if not to say normal.

Note! For proper and, most importantly, quality repairs, it is necessary to correctly determine the location of the coating breakthrough. It is a mistake to assume that the place of a leak on the ceiling always corresponds to the place of damage to the roofing material. Most often, everything is just the opposite - the material is torn in one place, and due to the fact that the roof has a slope, the leakage is completely different.

If a leak is detected, a number of measures should be taken:

• First of all, it is necessary to carry out a preliminary inspection of the roofing plane. To facilitate the detection of the location of the defect, the roof must be cleaned of possible contamination such as branches, fallen leaves and the like.
• Next you need to establish the place of occurrence of a breakthrough. Most often it is not difficult to determine it visually.
• Depending on the severity of the situation, it is necessary to make a decision about the repair.

Repair process

As soon as the place and scale of violation of the integrity of coverage is determined, it is possible to proceed to work to eliminate it. It is important to note here that these events can be held in two main ways. As it is easy to guess, we are talking about local and capital repair options. Each of them requires separate attention, so it will be considered separately.

Local repair

If the damage to the soft roofing is not too critical and are local in nature, you can do with local repair. The work process will vary depending on the type of roofing material. This refers to the rolled material or, for example, shingles. If you have to deal with soft tile, then everything is simple - first, the damaged element is dismantled, then the waterproofing condition is evaluated and, if everything is in order, then a new piece is simply inserted. If the situation permits, then it is necessary to replace or at least pay closer attention to the elements adjacent to the damaged part of the roof.

If, however, you need to repair the roll-up soft roof (for example, the variant with roofing material will be considered), then the actions will differ somewhat:

• The location of damage to the roofing material must be cut crosswise so that there is intact material at the edges of the cuts.
• After that, the material must be deployed and assess the state of waterproofing. If there is damage, the procedure is done on these layers.
• Then, you need to cut a piece of material corresponding to the size of the cut and paste it inside.
• The turned-away parts of the material are returned back and are additionally coated with bitumen.

At this the main stages of work on restoring the integrity of a soft roof of a local scale can be considered complete.

Overhaul

If the damage is more critical, then measures will be taken that are appropriate for the scale of the problem. This is a major overhaul of roofing. Here it is not necessary to completely overlap the roof, but it is necessary to block one damaged ramp. Everything is relatively simple from the technological side, but it will require a little more effort than the above described option.

The work lies in the fact that it is necessary to remove the damaged layer of roofing material, and in its place lay a new one.
