It is highly resistant to corrosion, temperature extremes and mechanical damage. Thanks to excellent operational and technical characteristics, there is no coating more reliable than metal tile. Its size and shape allow you to perform roofing in a matter of hours. Metal tile is a modern kind of roof, which is made of galvanized steel, produced in the form of a sheet. The steel sheet profiled has a rectangular shape and wavy relief. It is produced by cold rolling of steel billets, the thickness of which is 0.45-0.9 mm. It has the following structure:

1. Stainless steel, the thickness of which is not less than 0.45 mm.
2. Zinc layer, which metal content is not less than 275 g / m2, which protects the metal from corrosion.
3. Primer applied to the surface of the workpiece to increase the adsorption between the layers.
4. Paint or polymeric spraying of Pural, polyester or Plastizol, protecting the surface from mechanical damage and contact with water.

Important! The metal tile, which weighs no more than 6.5 kg / m2, is considered one of the most lightweight materials for roofing. Each sheet of profiled steel weighs about 13 kg, which facilitates transportation and installation.

Dimensions

The quality, standard length and width of the sheet is strictly regulated by GOST. After rolling and painting the steel blanks, they are cut to the required dimensions, which depend on the production capabilities of the manufacturer and the needs of the customer. Usually the finished profiled sheet has the following parameters:

• The width of the metal, depending on the shape and height of the profile is 1.16-1.19 m.
• The length of this type of roof can be 0.4 m - 8 m, usually it is cut to the size of the customer.
• The profile has a wavy shape, its height is 1.9-2.5 cm.
• The distance between the waves is 35-40 cm.
• The weight of the metal tile is 4-6.5 kg / m2, which makes it one of the lightest roof coatings.
• The thickness of the finished product is 0.45-0.9 mm.

Note! Sheet profiled galvanized steel with polymer or composite spraying is cut according to the customer’s desired size in 40 cm increments, but the optimal length is 4 m. If the size of metal tile exceeds these values, it is inconvenient to use it for roofing and it is expensive to transport. Large products are easily damaged when climbing onto the roof.

When calculating the necessary material for the roofing device is used such criteria as the area of ​​the sheet. Knowing this indicator and the total area of ​​the roof slopes, you can calculate how many sheets are required. Simple calculations allow efficient use of profiled steel sheets, helping to reduce costs. The area is calculated as follows:

1. To determine the total area of ​​the sheet, the length of the product is multiplied by the width. For example, the total area of ​​a sheet with a size of 1180x1180 is 1.4 m2.
2. To find the useful area of ​​the sheet, the length of the product is multiplied by the width, and then the area of ​​overlap is subtracted from the resulting number. If the width of the sheet is 1.18 m, the length is 1.18 m, the longitudinal overlap is 130 mm, and the horizontal one is 80 mm, then the useful area will be 1.16 m2.

Important! The working or useful area of ​​the product is less than the total, so this indicator is used in calculating the required amount of material for the organization of the roof. The sheet is laid with a horizontal overlap of 6-8 cm and a vertical overlap of 10-15 cm.

Thickness

• Type of decorative spraying.

Note! The weight of metal depends on the thickness of the workpiece. If the sheet is not thicker than 0.45 mm, then the weight of this roof covering will be no more than 4.5 kg / m2. However, the performance and lifetime of the roof will be significantly reduced. The light weight and the length of the products allow the roofing to be laid on a grating base with a step between the slats of more than 50 cm.

When purchasing metal, pay attention to the appearance of the product, the thickness of the product should be smooth over the entire surface, there should be no sagging on the polymer layer. Chips, cracks or scratches are signs of poor quality products that will not last long due to corrosion.
