In addition to the main types in architecture, they use more intricate types of pediments in the form of semicircles, keel, bow, and steps. The material from which they are made may coincide with the main material of the walls, and another type of finish may be used.

If the room under the roof is not intended for use as residential, then the minimum permissible height of the gable in accordance with building codes is 0.7 m. The device gable with the removal of the truss system is more complicated and more expensive than usual, however, this method allows you to make an overhang of any width.

So that the material of the overhang itself does not suffer from moisture, it should be hemmed from the bottom. For finishing use wood, siding, spotlights, corrugated. Experienced roofers advise to hem overhangs with specialized perforated soffits in order not to limit the penetration of air into the thickness of the roofing pie.

Ways of erection

• Brick. Brick masonry is used to finish houses of the same material, gas silicate or concrete. The large weight of the brick increases the load on the foundation, so this type of plating needs to be planned at the design stage. In addition, white silicate brick masonry does not look so impressive, so the pediment will have to be plastered.
