If the connection of the electric floor is simple enough, then when connecting the water heating should take into account some of the nuances. There are several methods for connecting a warm water floor. In this article we will tell you about the most affordable technologies and how to perform the connection process correctly.

The collector connection scheme is reduced to the fact that the boiler and the collector must be connected to the trunk pipe. If the boiler is installed close to the gas pipe (in cases where the gas boiler), then the collector can be mounted in any convenient place. It must have access to supply pipes with flow and return, as well as to control and control the system.

Before connecting pipes to the manifold, shut-off valves must be installed. To make it easier to control the temperature, a thermometer can be additionally included in the valve design.

Note! If desired, you can buy a complete collector in a complete assembly, for example, the company Valtec, Waltts or REHAU. In their configuration there are shut-off valves for connecting the pipeline. They are also equipped with valves for each individual circuit, which will allow, if necessary, to repair the heated floor, without turning off the entire system, but only the selected branch.

Thus, the assembly consisting of a collector, a pipe and a crane is interconnected by compression fittings. To connect the pipes, special connections are used, which consist of a brass nut, a clamping ring and a support sleeve. If it is necessary to connect pipes of different diameters, then fittings-adapters can be used.

Thus, we have the simplest scheme for connecting underfloor heating. This scheme has the following nodes:

  • Simple collector with shut-off valves.
  • Feed / return pipe connecting through the taps with a comb.

Note! The described scheme is one of the simplest and at the same time not recommended by experts. With this connection, underfloor heating will depend entirely on the boiler. The only thing that can be done on the collector is to partially cover the valve to reduce the flow of coolant. Of course, floor heating is better to organize with individual control.

  • Pump mixing unit.
  • Drain cock.
  • Circulation pump.
  • Air vent
  • Shut-off valves and pipes.

At the outlet / inlet, instead of conventional taps, thermostatic control valves can be installed. Through them you can set the bandwidth of the crane. This is achieved thanks to the thermobalon with paraffin, which expands or contracts under the influence of temperature.

Note! If you live in cold areas, the floor heating system should be equipped with a mixer. The boiler will produce too high a temperature, and the heat transfer fluid for underfloor heating should not be more than 55 ° C.

Installation of the mixing pump is carried out between the supply pipe and the supply manifold. There is also a third outlet that goes to the return before returning to the collector. If necessary, the pump will pump the cooled coolant into the flow to achieve the set temperature.

Connecting to the collector boiler saves money on the purchase of equipment. This method can heat a room up to 150 m.2. But with regard to practicality, it is preferable to purchase / install a collector, which will allow full control of the temperature of the coolant.

  • Pump.
  • Security group
  • Expansion tank.

Installation of the pump is carried out in front of the three-way valve or in front of the inlet manifold.

Note! If your funds allow, you can fork over a pod-mix module, or as it is called a mixing assembly. It can be of two types for boilers according to the type of pumping station and for collectors, which is installed directly into the collector cabinet.

Instead of a mixing pump, you can use a three-way mixer. It is used in cases where the pump does not need to increase circulation. Its installation is performed at the exit of the collector. This scheme has the following nodes:

  1. Three-way valveOn the one hand, the pipes coming from the boiler are connected to the collector.
  2. On the other hand, each collector is equipped with a splitter.
  3. Each splitter is equipped with an air vent to remove air bubbles from the system.
  4. From the bottom of the splitter, a tap is installed to drain the coolant from the system in case of repair.

Note! As practice shows, it is better to purchase all the necessary elements at once and not save on connecting a warm water floor. For this, it is preferable to buy a ready-made collector system. Especially since the collector assembly will cost you more.

There are situations when it is necessary to increase the pressure of the coolant in the floor heating system. In this case, without fail, the pump is installed. To make it convenient to regulate and control the temperature, the pump is additionally equipped with a thermostat.

Note! If the floor is connected to the heating system, the pump is installed on the return pipe. Otherwise, the pump will take a large amount of coolant from the central apartment heating system, which will lead to temperature chaos in the house. Your warm floor will be hot, and your neighbors' radiators, according to the riser, will be cold.

It should be noted that when connecting a heated floor to a centralized heating system, it is important to use:

  • Temperature sensor.
  • Three-way valve.
  • Mixing valve
  • Check valve

So, a pump with a temperature sensor is installed at the feed. Next, mounted mixing valve that connects to the floor heating. A check valve is installed on the return pipe. Its output must be connected to a cold heating pipe with a drain to the mixing valve.

So, after connecting the floor using any of the listed methods, the system should be checked. To ensure that everything is working properly, testing should continue for several hours.
