We make a fence from the boards

Fence

If we talk about Russia, the most popular building material throughout the history of its existence and development can be called a tree. In connection with such a great demand and interest, we will just consider the topic of how to build a fence from boards with our own hands. Although such structures do not represent the complexity of nanotechnology, they nevertheless have their own characteristics that must be taken into account during installation.

Decorative fence from not cut board

Stages of the construction of wooden fences

Used fencing material

What could be a fence made of boards? For some reason, shields or a blind fence horizontally boarded up immediately come to mind, but this is not always the case, because the picket fence, in fact, is also made from the same boards, only dissolved on slats. Therefore, let's understand how this is done in practice, besides the video in this article will help with this additionally.

Wooden fence frame

  • It does not matter at all what material the fencing will be made of, but if it is not independent, then in any case support will be needed for its installation. The material for this may be different, but in this case, if we are talking about wooden fences, first of all, wooden columns are used, which can be either from round timber or from profiled timber.

Council If wood is used for the pillars of the fence, then the posts of the pillars must be treated with resin in order to protect against moisture penetration and, as a result, rotting. In extreme cases, you can use a primer like GF or solid lubricants like grease.

Installation of metal posts

  • Metal poles are no less successful, as they are very durable and, with proper processing and proper installation, have a long service life. Under the treatment here refers to the primer and painting profile, which protects it from rust.

Concrete bollards

  • The longest service life, perhaps, at concrete supports or asbestos pipes. Such pillars do not corrode either in the ground or in the air, although in cases where the products are of poor quality, they begin to crumble. Of all the supports listed here, the concrete columns have the highest price, but at the same time they have the most aesthetic appearance.

The bricks are lined with bricks

  • The most exquisite for the fences, of course, are the supports of brick, but the basis for them still serves as a metal profile or concrete pillar. Requirements for such structures remain common, depending on the rod (concrete or metal), which is enclosed with bricks. In this case, do not forget about the brackets, because after laying it will be much more difficult to install them.

Pillar installation options for the intake frame

  •  In the diagram you see four options for installing columns for fences, and the first one involves the complete pouring of the butt with cement mortar with gravel or crushed stone. This method is suitable for the supports of any material, because the concrete completely covers the butt and does not allow it to come into contact with moisture and oxygen. Protection measures for metal and wood remain unchanged.
  • The second method is more suitable for concrete pylons, because it implies a blocking or filling with rubble (gravel) followed by tamping of the fraction. Of course, this method can be used for wood and metal, but the access of moisture will not be limited, and this leads to undesirable consequences.
  • The third method involves pouring only the upper half of the butt, which gives the pole good stability, but its lower part remains unprotected.. Although such options are used quite often, but they cannot be called the best.
  • The fastest, but at the same time, the fourth method can be called the most unreliable, when the bar goes directly into the ground. The main problem of this method is that the ground in any case will give a drawdown, which, in turn, leads to a roll of support and the fencing itself. Ground fill is good for temporary fences used in fencing construction sites.

Council No instruction does not regulate the depth of the pits for the posts - everything depends on the state of the soil. The size will increase with increasing moisture and soil looseness.

Shelters

Shelf

Structural scheme of picket fence

  • After along the perimeter of the fenced area, the posts for the framework are installed, logs or girders are attached to them, which serve as a crate for shtaketin. In cases where the supports are wooden, horizontal bars (lags) are attached directly to the post with nails or screws, but for concrete and metal risers brackets with holes should be provided.
  • The console for the bolts is a metal plate with holes, which in the horizontal position in the form of ears should be firmly attached to the pole at the level of the sheathing (see photo above). For metal supports the bracket is simply welded, in concrete (cast) supports it forms part of the reinforcing frame. Lags to the ears bolted.

Template for shuttle

Council All shtaetiny on the fence should be at the same level and at the same distance from each other. For leveling, you can tighten the kapron thread along the top, and nail the shtaketins through the template, that is, applying one fence to the other to measure the distance to the next.

You can also make a template of two planks or boards for a picket fence, connecting them at an angle of 90 ?. You can use the device as shown in the figure above.

Horizontal fences

Wicker fence made of planks

  • There is another very interesting type of boardwalk, this is when boards are horizontally intertwined through supports and crossbars are not used here (see also the article Wicker fence - ample opportunities, available materials). But, be that as it may, the foundation must necessarily and it is carried out by the main vertical supports. Between the main pillars there are additional bars for interlacing.

Assembling wicker plank fence

  • Pay attention to the top photo, and you will see the principle of assembling a wicker fence from boards, although you can do it in a different way, especially when you need to replace any of the boards. After all, if you have broken, for example, the lower or middle board, then you will not dismantle all the higher ones on this span! To do this, you can use the so-called "method of pushing through", when the board simply sticks in from the side, skirting the pillars of the supports.

Board wicker fence with brick columns

  • But above is an example of the same design, only made on the basis of brick pillars. In fact, the fence remained the same, but the decoration of brick completely changed its appearance.

Deaf Rack Fence

  • Above, you see an example of a dull, slatted horizontal fence, which, after opening with varnish, acquired a rather attractive appearance. Such fences can be installed on supports from any material, as long as they do not loosen from soil subsidence and mechanical loads.

Horizontal Rack Fence

  • A plank horizontal fence does not have to be a blank wall - sometimes it is enough to attach the slats or boards to the vertical supports at the same distance in order to create the desired fence. Such constructions are used for fencing enclosures, gardens and even protected areas in forestry.

Temporary board fences

Board boards for fencing

  • For temporary fencing construction sites, production sites and parking lots are often used ready-made wooden boards, knocked out of the boards. Such devices can even be rented so as not to be wasted on materials that will not be needed later.

Installing the shield on the support frame

  • Wooden shields are installed on a supporting frame, based on two triangles with a vertical frame, which serves as a crate - and a shield is nailed to it. Such structures are easy to move from place to place, so they can be used instead of the entrance gate - the fence, if necessary, is simply removed to the side.
  • For temporary fences, of course, you can put together a fence from any boards, just nailing them to the supports. And in this case, just apply the fourth method of mounting the columns, when he digs right into the ground.

Conclusion

Board fences can be mounted as both basic and temporary, but in any case, the material itself is almost a limitless area for designer imagination. After all, various shapes can be cut out of wood, it can be inlaid or, in the end, simply painted in any color.
