• First, the pits under the pillars must necessarily be 30–40 s below the freezing ground level.
• If your soil is prone to moisture absorption, there is even a special term for such soils - heaving, then spend a very thorough drainage of the entire space around the pillar. In this situation, it is recommended to even simply remove the old soil and replace it with the ideal one under the pillars - sand and fine gravel.

• Drainage should be continued on the soil surface and also be carried out within a radius of up to 15–20 cm from the edge of the column to a depth of at least 15 cm. Needless to say, careful tamping of the drainage is a guarantee of its effectiveness.

Helpful advice! The purpose of drainage is to minimize the accumulation of moisture in the created structure. Winter frosts with its ice will simply tear it apart.
