Frame under siding

So, how to make a frame? The siding crate is made of wooden beams or metal profiles. The wooden frame is cheaper, but it is not so durable.

• The cross-section of the beam used should be at least 50? 50 mm.
• It should protrude above the insulation surface by 2–5 cm - this will ensure the presence of an air gap.
• Dry lumber is taken for work, preferably coniferous, without rot and damage.
• Previously, it is covered with antiseptic.

The metal profile will provide a reliable and durable base, but will require substantial cash outlay.

• Its installation is carried out on special suspensions. To fix the frame to the brick, screws will be required, and it is nailed to the tree.
• Profile or timber for horizontal placement of siding is fixed vertically. The thickness of the batten depends on the size of the insulation boards. The step of fixing the vertical guides is from 50 to 30 cm, it should be 1 cm less than the width of the insulation.
• The installation of the batten starts from the corner of the building, retreating from it 10 cm. Having fastened the two extreme planks on the level, you can tighten the cord and place the remaining guides in the same plane.
• Additional door and window openings will require additional bars or profiles.

Laying insulation

When warming mineral wool it is better to use not rolled material, but plates. They are conveniently placed between the guides and fastened each separately. To do this, use five plastic dowels with large caps, drive them in at the top, bottom and in the middle of the insulation plate. It is necessary to lay insulation as tightly as possible so that cold bridges do not occur. To increase the efficiency, it is possible to lay the material in two layers, overlapping the existing joints with the upper plate.

Note! In conditions of low temperatures applied two-level insulation. The first layer is laid in the crate fixed horizontally, and the second between the vertical guides.

• Thermal insulation foam is performed using glue and dowels.
• The laid insulation is covered with a special membrane used for wind and waterproofing. This rolled material additionally seals the joints and protects the insulating layer from external influence.
• The membrane is attached to the crate with a stapler, the canvas is laid with an overlap and glued with butyl tape.
• Diffuse material does not let moisture in and out steam. Between the membrane and the siding is left a gap for ventilation.

Siding installation

Work on the installation of siding start with marking the installation site of the starting profile. To do this, from the edge of the crate mark 5 cm and lay a line around the perimeter of the house. On it the starting guide is screwed, which should be in a strictly horizontal plane. The next step is the installation of corner elements, followed by framing of window and door openings. Installation of panels with horizontal placement begins at the bottom left and goes up. Vertical siding installation can begin in the central part of the wall. When fixing the screws in the slots of vinyl panels need to leave a gap of 1 mm for thermal expansion.
