Technology "wet facade" & raquo;
Many owners want the houses in which they live to be distinguished not only for their beauty, but also for their strength and durability. These criteria are met by a technology called “wet facade”. It has been used in construction for a long time. This technology is based on the use of specially designed mixtures that are diluted with water. Finishing the house ends with plaster, which firmly holds the entire structure.
Wet facade application
Today, many buildings and structures are decorated using wet facade technology. These include residential “skyscrapers”, office buildings, sports arenas, cultural and administrative buildings and even private construction projects.
Facing material is a multilayer structure consisting of adhesive mixture, primer, insulation and mesh for reinforcement. After applying all these components to the facade, the surface can be decorated with facing plaster and painted. The technology has a lot of advantages, and the installation work is not very complex and expensive. In addition, you can apply texture and color in different combinations. With this technology, you can finish any building. So, installation of a wet facade can be made on various materials: a brick, concrete, a tree, a chipboard and others. In this case, the seams between the panels are securely closed, and an airtight surface is formed. In the future, such a building can be subjected to various updates. This method of finishing ensures high sound insulation characteristics of the bearing walls.
Note! Materials that are used in the construction are environmentally friendly, which has a positive effect on the microclimate in the rooms. Steam will find a way to the external environment, the condensate will be absent, and the temperature in the rooms will stabilize. In the summer hot weather the room will feel pleasantly cool.
Like all construction technologies, this also has its drawbacks, however they are minimal and easy to avoid.
- Structural elements and materials can be installed at positive temperatures, the value of which is not lower than 5 ° C. In winter, financial losses will be associated with the use of round-the-clock use of heat heaters.
- Work on the arrangement of the facade is prohibited to carry out in the rain and high humidity.
- In clear weather, the solution, when exposed to sunlight, will dry out quickly and lose quality characteristics.
- The ingress of dust on the mounted structure will contribute to the formation of stubborn dirt.
System installation
First you need to carry out preparatory work with the working surface. All opening elements must be closed, inside all the work must be completed. External walls should be equipped with brackets for installation of future communications, clean them from crumbling fragments, wash and dry. Cracks are repaired, surfaces are aligned.
- On the walls you need to walk well with a primer and adhesive mixture. This procedure will allow in the future insulation to bond well with the surface. Almost always, the adhesive compositions are mineral with additives from polymers. Such a composition provides adhesive mixtures with good vapor permeability and reliable adhesion to the surface. A plate for thermal insulation made of polystyrene or mineral wool is glued to the wall.
- For insulation it is good to use slabs of mineral wool that do not burn. Fiberglass plates manifest themselves badly, as they are easily torn and do not tolerate alkali. The lowest density of insulation should be 135 kg / m ?. With a softer material, the final layers will be difficult to apply. In addition, the spread of material. To make the facade look attractive, the thickness of the insulation should always be uniform.
- Expanded polystyrene differs in high heat conductivity and ease. It's bad that his plates are flammable. The way out is to process the material with fire retardants. You can also insert mineral filler between the plates. It should be used near windows and doors, as well as between floors.
- Next, the wet facade device continues with the use of adhesive mixture and mesh for reinforcement. These elements will make the wet facade stronger and increase the adhesion between the layer of plaster and insulation. An adhesive is applied to the latter, then a net, then an adhesive again, which levels the surface. Polymer additives that are added to the adhesive mineral plaster, give the mixture resistance to frost and water, as well as strength and ductility. All components must be balanced, otherwise vapor permeability will deteriorate, and the facade will become brittle.
- Fiberglass mesh resistant to alkali. However, if this property is not strengthened with another layer of the mixture and the grid is not impregnated with a special anti-alkaline compound, it will simply disappear after a while. In addition, the grid should not stretch and break. Next, the adhesive mixture is treated with a primer, which will be applied to the final layer.
- Work with a wet facade is completed by applying a layer with decorative and protective features. This layer is facade plaster, which will decorate the exterior of the building. In addition, it will protect the structure from all possible natural phenomena. So that the insulation can get rid of excess moisture, materials are used that are different decorative look and good vapor permeability. For this, clinker ceramics are well suited. At the end, the corners of the house are protected with a profile and the basement is processed.
The attached photos show examples of how a house with a wet facade looks like:
Types of mounts
Rigid fastening is carried out using dowels, while all layers of plaster should be no more than 0.8 cm thick. Thermal insulation can still be fixed with glue and dish-shaped dowels. The mounting points on average should be about five. First used glue, which is complemented by dowels. You can only use dowels, but fixtures will last longer if you apply the adhesive mixture and plaster, which also levels the walls.
Note! So that the final coating does not crack, the insulation plates must be staggered. Glue is applied only on half the surface of the plate. Dowel clog only after complete drying of the glue. Dowels zabivny used for solid bricks and reinforced concrete surfaces, screw - for bricks with voids and foam concrete. At 1 m? surface goes up to 5 dowels.
The wet facade warms the house well and insulates the room from excessive noise. On heating in buildings with such facades you can save well. But the positive effect will be felt only with the proper installation of the structure. Therefore, saving on materials and work is not worth it.
