How to insulate the facade of the house

When preparing for the work, it is necessary to take into account how to insulate the walls, because not all walls should be insulated with material of the same thickness. For example, the south side can be covered with a layer of insulation of smaller thickness. This is a rational and creative approach to the process. When choosing a material for insulation, one should keep in mind that some insulation serves as a favorable habitat for rodents. They will quickly turn the material into a hotbed of unpleasant odor and disease.

Mineral wool

For the time being we will focus on mineral wool - plates, which are made of fibrous inorganic material. It is a silicate melt of rocks, mixtures of sedimentary rocks and metallurgical slags. It has the following properties:

• high resistance to high temperatures;
• resistance to chemicals;
• excellent heat and sound insulation characteristics;
• fire safety.

With the help of cotton wool you can warm the loggia, facade, windows. Wadded insulation is fastened to the facade with special glue. But first, the walls need to be leveled, as a properly prepared surface will ensure a tight connection between the insulation and the wall. To do this, first you need to clean the wall of dust, debris, repair all chips and cracks. If there are oil stains, they should be removed.

Work begins at the bottom of the wall. A layer of special glue is applied to a well cleaned and leveled surface. This glue is sold as a powder in bags of fifty kilograms. • a layer of glue is applied to the slabs of mineral wool,
• additionally, mineral wool slabs are fixed with dowels,
• a reinforcing mesh is applied to the adhesive composition,
• a layer of plaster is applied to the mesh.

Such reinforcement will significantly increase the thermal insulation and will additionally strengthen the insulation layer. Now wait for the glue layer to dry and proceed to the final stage. The final finish can be done with facade paint or decorative plaster. This not only ennobles the walls of the building, but also protects well against the appearance of fungal growths and mold.

Decorative plaster can be applied in several ways: stamping, facing and pile. Stamping is performed using a roller that is wrapped with a net. The mesh is wound in such a way as to produce the intended pattern. This method is considered the easiest.

The pile is carried out by a metal brush with fine fibers. The top layer of plaster is thus combed. When the plaster dries, it is wiped with a rag. For trimming use a rubber or natural sponge, pre-moistened with soap and water. It turns out the surface that mimics natural stone.

Styrofoam

For the installation of foam (polystyrene foam) as a heater tools need less. After all, the foam can be cut with an ordinary, sharply sharpened knife or with a regular hacksaw. Required:

• hammer,
• dish plugs,
• special glue
• reinforcing mesh
• paint,
• spatulas,
• foam rollers.

Professionals advise to use 30–40 mm thick foam for home insulation. Before installation, it is necessary to clean and level the surfaces of the walls. Apply a coat of primer to the cleaned surface. For this fit any mortar. When the primer is dry, you can proceed to the next step.

Note! In order for the insulation to lie flat, the basement profile should be reinforced along the lower edge of the facade. It will be the starting point for laying the first layer. In addition, it is an additional protection against rodents. The profile is attached to the bottom of the walls with dowels. Дюбеля следует вбивать в угол, где сходятся несколько плит, а один обязательно в середине плиты. Так получается надежнее, и экономичнее.

A reinforcing mesh is attached to the surface of the foam - so that the plaster keeps firmly. The mesh is attached to the plates of the foam overlap with the use of adhesive. It has the ability to quickly freeze, so the grid around the perimeter should be aligned very quickly.

After reinforcement, you can apply the first layer of plaster. Layer is laid in such a way that the grid peeps through the solution. When the first layer dries out properly, you need to wipe it with a large sandpaper or special float.

Now you can apply the next layer of plaster. The recommended thickness of the second layer is three millimeters. Using a smooth spatula, apply a finishing coat in small portions. After complete drying of the last layer, its final grouting is performed. Closing should be individual sections.

So the last layer of plaster is dry. You can start applying paint.

You can use to paint the facade of any paint. Coloring is performed using a foam soft roller.

With this method of insulation is obtained the effect of a thermos. This means that at any outdoor temperature the room will always be comfortable, warm and dry.
