Facing the facade with metal cassettes

Facade

During the construction of various facilities, it is often necessary to create a high-quality exterior finish. Recently, so-called ventilated facades have been used for these purposes. They provide not only a high level of thermal insulation, but also reliable protection of walls against the influence of adverse weather conditions. Designers also have access to various options for colors and forms of finishing materials, among which one can easily find the necessary and execute various architectural ensembles.

Metal cassettes are one of the increasingly popular finishing materials. Externally, they are metal sheets with a decorative coating, protected from corrosion. Aluminum, copper, brass and galvanized steel are commonly used. Sheet thickness can vary between 0.7–1.2 mm. The front side is covered with paint using powder technology, which allows to obtain its uniform distribution over the surface, such a coating increases the service life.

Facade cladding can be used no matter how flat the wall is. Minor defects are of no particular importance, since the facing material is fixed on a special frame made of metal profile. There is also no need to carry out the exterior finish of the walls in the usual ways. You can trim the facade, which is made of virtually any material, as they do not interact with it. The space between the wall and the lining can be used to install insulation and waterproofing. The coating prevents the formation of condensed moisture, the process of decay and rust.

Cassettes are highly maintainable since they can be easily detached and replaced. There are two main options for fasteners: self-tapping screws and special locks-latches Installation work can be carried out at any time of the year without restrictions. Deciding on the design of the facade, you can make a choice of various shades and shapes. The service life of metal cassettes can be several decades, and this figure depends mainly on the type of metal base.

Installation Features

Before installing the ventilated facade, it is necessary to remove the old facing covering in order to be able to detect and eliminate possible defects of the walls. It is also advisable to make sure that the wall is able to withstand the load of the frame and the finishing material. It is rather easy to check this: two dowels are taken, and a fragment of the frame is fixed to the wall in two places and checked for strength and reliability under load.

Facades of houses built of foam concrete and hollow bricks cannot be lined with metal cassettes, as they will not be able to ensure the reliability of the frame fastening. The density of the material must be at least 0.6 t / m2.

How to fix

The next step is to mark the surface of the walls to install metal profiles, on which the cassettes will be mounted. For this, it is convenient to use a laser level to ensure high accuracy of work. The markings start from the very bottom of the building, taking into account the dimensions of the metal cassettes. The interval between the guides should allow you to securely fix the lining.

Note! The plane of the frame must be absolutely flat. If this condition is not fulfilled, the facing material will not be fixed, or a skew will be visible.

When mounting brackets, it is advisable to avoid mounting them in the joints of the main wall, especially in masonry or between the panels, as this can lead to cracks in the supporting wall. A special gasket must be installed between the bracket and the wall material, which will reduce heat loss and prevent possible deformations. After that, proceed to the laying of the waterproofing base overlap, and then the insulation. On top of the heat insulation fix windproof film.

Installation with open mount

Note! Installation of the facade starts from the top of the wall. In this case, the top can be installed whole plates, and the bottom to cut. It will not be evident.

In order to properly install metal cassettes, you need to fasten the upper guides on the locking screws, and the lower ones are slightly higher than suggested by the project. Such an assembly design will reliably secure the top row of cassettes. After that, the lower guides are inserted into the slot of the cassette holders as far as they will go and bolted. Then put the next guide along and lay out another row of metal cassettes and so on down to the bottom.

Mounting with closed mounting

Note! If it turned out that some elements were damaged during the delivery or installation, they do not need to be thrown away; you can try to use them on the lower rows.

It is allowed to install cassettes from the bottom of the walls by increasing the rows by engaging the lower part of the element for the initial rail, and the upper one - for the rail installed above. The next row is laid out by hooking the bottom row.

How to avoid mistakes

Mounting material

  1. During installation, you must fully comply with the requirements of the manufacturer of metal cassettes for installation. If you do not follow the simple installation rules for the cladding material, there may be slight irregularities in the fasteners, which during operation can lead to a big problem related to the replacement of the guides.
  2. It is advisable not to use damaged parts in prominent places of the wall.
  3. The distance between the lining and the installed insulation layers must comply with the technical requirements so that the effectiveness of the ventilation and damage to the insulation does not decrease.
  4. And most importantly - do not need to save on fasteners.

Consumables

The decoration of the facade with metal cassettes makes it possible to give any constructed object a modern look and create an original design. With the right approach to the installation of a ventilated system, it can last for a long time and will protect the main material of the walls from the influence of the external environment.
