Facade of corrugated
Surely every owner of a private house wants his home to be not only warm, safe and cozy, but also attractive in appearance, so you can't do without finishing the facade. Among the variety of building materials suitable for these purposes, as one of the most affordable and versatile can be distinguished profiled. Facade of corrugated board - the choice of practical owners.
General material description
Profiled flooring is called sheet material having a profiled surface. Sheets are made of metal and covered with several layers of protective and decorative materials.
The material presented on the construction market can be divided into several categories:
- Roof decking. As a rule, it has a smaller thickness, and therefore a weight, which is a plus, since it reduces the load on the roof system. Also has additional protection from moisture.
- Wall decking. It has greater strength than the above analogue, which makes it suitable for the manufacture of fences and facade work.
- Carrier decking. It has the greatest indicators of mechanical strength, which allows the use of sheets of this material during the installation of floors between floors.
If as the exterior of the house is chosen the facade finish with corrugated flooring, you need to know that the technology of its installation occurs in several stages.
Preparation for covering
At this stage it is necessary to prepare the necessary amount of material, as well as fasteners and tools. In order to correctly calculate the amount of material required, it is necessary to include in it the area of windows and doors, if any, when measuring the area of walls. This is necessary in order to have some stock that may be needed when fitting the elements. Also, for framing the lines of windows and doors will require additional elements.
In addition to these points, you need to prepare the walls, which in this case means the dismantling of window sills and other protruding elements.
Mounting the grid
The next stage of work is the installation of the batten, as the material is not attached directly to the walls.
Before proceeding to work, you must mark the surface. For these purposes, you can use a tailing cord or a simple suspension, made of a rope of sufficient length and weight.
First marked the lower horizontal line, indicating the place of attachment of the starting guide. Horizontal should be monitored by building level.
After this, it is necessary to note a number of vertical lines along which the vertical battens will be installed. The distance between them should be fixed and be 40 cm. This will save time when screwing sheets of sheeting to the batten.
Once the marking is ready, you can proceed to the installation of U-shaped fasteners. They must be bolted along the marked lines, maintaining a distance of about 40 cm between adjacent elements.
After installing the fasteners, you can proceed to the installation of the batten itself. For this, as a rule, metal profiled rails are used, which are installed and fixed in fasteners with metal screws.
Once the crate is ready, you can proceed to further work.
Laying insulation
After the crate is ready, it is necessary to continue the layer of insulation material. Mineral wool, which is both available and has good thermal insulation performance, is well suited for this purpose. Cotton wool can be made in the form of plates, and in the form of rolls.
Before mounting the material, the sheets are cut into pieces that are the same size as the cells of the batten. To fix the insulation inside it is necessary with the help of special fasteners, which are often called umbrellas due to visual similarities.
A protective film is attached over the insulation that will perform windproof functions.
Installation of a professional flooring
When all the preparatory stages of work are completed, you can proceed to the direct installation of sheets of sheeting. You should know that the sheets can fit both horizontally and vertically.
It is recommended to start fasteners from the lower left corner. The sheet is installed in the starting guide and screwed with special metal screws, with rubber gaskets under the cap, which protects the site of attraction from damage and moisture penetration.
The next sheet is set to the left of the previous one and is fixed in the same way. So you need to lay the first bottom row of sheets, then fit the second. Thus, the entire surface of the facade is covered.
Note! If it is necessary to cut sheeting, this can be done with the help of scissors for metal or Bulgarian.
For decorative design of corners and edging door and window openings should use special additional elements.
Arguments in favor of the material
There are many types of materials with the help of which the facade is finished, each of which has its advantages and disadvantages. As arguments in favor of the use of profiled sheeting, the following arguments can be made:
- Availability of material. Decking can be found in most hardware stores, while the price per square meter will be lower than that of counterparts.
- Easy installation. Sheets profiled are screwed to the crate with screws.
- Save time. Since profiled sheets have a sufficiently large area, it takes less time to cover the facade than when using similar materials.
- There is a huge amount of color solutions for this material on the market, so there is an opportunity to make your home original.
- Sheets of a professional flooring if necessary are easily dismantled that is convenient in case of need repair.
- Sheeting has good mechanical strength and protection against various influences, including protection from wind and precipitation.
- The polymers that make up the coating of the material protect it from corrosion due to contact with moisture.
- Being a metal material, decking is more fireproof than, for example, vinyl siding.
However, for objectivity, it should be noted that the profiled flooring has several relative drawbacks, including the general noise of the material, as well as the fact that the self-tapping screws used for fastening the sheets slightly spoil the appearance. Although this circumstance is debatable.
Summing up the above, we can say that if there is a need for finishing the facade, but there is some constraint in the means, sheeting is quite suitable as a material. What determines the cost of the material, tell the video:
With good performance, it can be a real way out of the situation, which will allow you to perform all the necessary work without going broke. In particular, this approach is relevant when it comes to finishing the facade of a country house or outbuildings.
