1. First, you need to prepare a site for construction and all the necessary materials, and mark the location of the support columns in place. They set up the racks in the holes dug for them, on the bottom of which the waterproofing of several layers of roofing material is laid.

   Attention! Wooden supports before installation must be treated with special impregnations and coat the lower ends with used oil. Metal supports are primed and painted.

2. After immersion of the supports in the pits, they are filled with soil, well sealing it every 10-15 cm. But for a more reliable fixation of the support it is better to concrete, pre-leveling them in a strictly vertical position.
3. The upper ends of the supports are trimmed at the same level, and the support bar is laid on them if you make a tree visor over the porch, or a trout pipe is welded with a cross section of 40 × 20 mm if the frame is metal. This detail of the canopy is called the mauerlat and serves to bundle the supports and give strength to the whole structure.
4. A timber (or professional pipe) of the same length is attached to the wall of the building parallel to the power plate, but at a higher level to create a slope. Fastening is made on the anchor, and with large dimensions and weight of the structure, the wall support bar is complemented by supporting vertical posts.

5. On the supporting horizontal bar on one side and the mauerlat on the other, the rafters of the boards are laid, and a wooden sheath is mounted on them. Do not forget that the rafters must stand for the mauerlat, so that the overhang is formed. When making a visor above the porch of metal, take into account its dimensions in the manufacture of the frame and installation of the batten.
6. It remains to fasten the sheets of metal on the crate with special galvanized self-tapping screws, install the junction bar at the junction of the visor with the wall, and the visor above the porch is ready with your own hands.

Polycarbonate roofs

Polycarbonate is a very light material, so the visor can be made suspended from it. And thanks to its flexibility and plasticity, it is possible to make visors of any shape, including arched, on the porch without problems.

The most suitable materials for the manufacture of a frame for such peaks are:

• Aluminum corners and tubes. They are easily cut, bent and assembled into a seamless structure, without requiring any surface treatment.
• Metal rolling - metal pipes and corners. The frame is going to be bolted or welded, which requires experience of similar work. The frame of this material is heavy, so often requires additional vertical supports.
• Forging. The canopy over the porch made of polycarbonate with a wrought-iron frame is the most beautiful, but also the most expensive. Besides, not everyone can make it with his own hands.

Attention! The metal frame before installation must be sanded and primed, and the next day to paint and let it dry well.

After you have decided on the materials, you need to make a drawing and calculate their number. The bearing structure is made separately, and the finished one is installed in place, fastening it on the wall with long anchors.

Here you need to remember the following rules:

• Polycarbonate is always mounted last, on a frame already fixed in place.
• During installation of the flooring, the protective film is not removed from the sheet, so as not to damage the protective layer from ultraviolet radiation. It is removed after all the work is completed, when the polycarbonate visor over the porch is fully mounted.
• Fix polycarbonate self-tapping screws with thermal washers, trying not to create a strong hold-down.
• After removing the protective film, the end profiles are put on the ends of the sheets, or they are glued over with a special adhesive tape.
