The entrance door for the bath and its features

Doors

Entrance doors to the bath are selected individually for each building. This is influenced by the environment and the location of the building itself.

In this article we will consider this question. We give the definition of species. Also, you can see photos and videos on this topic and make the right choice.

Design features of the entrance door to the bath

The entrance door to the bath is slightly different from the usual door. When choosing, you should pay attention to this. There are several features that distinguish it.

Let's take a closer look at them:

  • Entrance doors for baths and saunas are made a little less from the usual standard. This is due to heat savings. Installation is done taking into account that it should open outwards. This is a prerequisite. For screws and hinges, brass will be the best option. Be sure to provide a threshold, which should be 10-15 cm. Moreover, its height should coincide completely with the floor of the room itself, keep this in mind when designing the room;
  • The door can be single-leaf or double-leaf.. In the second variant, the entrance door to the bath should be warmed up especially carefully.

Caution: When carrying out insulation should pay particular attention to the warming box. If this is not done immediately, then after installing the cladding it will be quite difficult to do. Do not use for insulation sawdust, some even advise. The fact is that this material begins to rot at high humidity and, moreover, rather quickly. This will ruin everything.

  • Wooden entrance doors for a bathtub in the best way will be suitable for a wooden felling. This design will then look stylish and harmonious. To do this work it is best to use linden (see We make the doors of linden for the bath). This is a hardwood, which does not give in to deformation, will last for a long time and keeps warm well. When installing, always do the processing of wood, that you protect it from a wet environment and prolong the service life. You should never use it when processing antiseptics, it only hurts. Use natural materials based on wax. They eat on the free market. Such material penetrates into wood quite deeply and an environmentally friendly protective coating is formed on the surface. It will completely protect the surface from moisture and temperature extremes;
  • It is not necessary to equip the door with various English locks, they can slam and after that it will be impossible to leave the room. On the inner surface of the door is best to place two constipation, one at the top of the other at the bottom. Thus, the canvas will be better to fit and keep warm longer. All internal constipation is best done from wood, it will just warm up less;
  • If you do not properly warm the box, then not a single door will save heat. For this it is necessary to apply a heater along the contour of the box installation. Do not use natural insulation. It is better to use synthetic. They are amenable to rotting and will last much longer. When laying the insulation, you can paint the base surface with paint (see Paint for doors: choose and make painting). It will dry out and stick insulation to itself and you will not be afraid for its shrinkage in the course of time.

We make the door to the bath

For the bath can be an entrance door made of any material. It all depends on your desire. You can make the entrance wooden door for the bath, which will suit in all respects and will be the best way to keep warm. But maybe the entrance plastic door to the bath.

Only in the first variant there is one advantage that it is rather difficult to dispute, it is an opportunity to do everything with your own hands. And it will significantly reduce your costs.

Two-chamber door for a bath

This design is the most affordable and fairly simple to manufacture. It can easily be done with your own hands and without resorting to outside help. Moreover, materials can be freely purchased and their price is not high.

The instructions for making are as follows:

  • For a start, the board is an inch board and on the circular we dismiss it into two halves, the cut goes in the direction of the length of the part;
  • Now it must be done in thickness of 15 mm. This can be done on the electrofunder. But the best option would be to skip the board through the surface gauge, then you will get the perfect size and later there will be less work. If you cannot do this, then in the doorway you should select a quarter and a depth of 60 mm. In this embodiment, it is not necessary to completely plan the board in size, but simply to make the planes the same and slightly frighten;
  • We take two barswhich should be prepared in advance and make two identical frames;
We make door frames

Attention: In the manufacture of the door should be taken into account and the frame in the doorway, according to this and choose the size. The door should fit tightly and there should be no gaps. In the manufacture it is necessary to do not only measure the length and width, but also with the help of the thread to make the measurement of the diagonal. Only then the door will have the correct geometric shape.

  • After that, we take hardboard or plywood. Draw the size of the door and cut out three blanks according to the dimensions of the canvas. Moreover, it is desirable that the two sheets were made from solid sheets, and one is fashionable to make two halves, then you will have less waste;

Now we build our sandwich:

  • Take the workpiece, which we made of hardboard and put it on a flat surface. Just be sure to flat. Otherwise we will have a propeller at the door. Then we put the door frame on it and then fill the voids with insulation. To do this, you can use any insulation, it is only desirable that its weight was as small as possible. And you should not use natural materials that can simply rot at high humidity;
  • Now we take the second part, which may be of two halves. We coat its surface with oil paint. This is done so that there are no gaps between the plywood and the wood and the insulation will stick to the paint and will not shrink during the process of time;
  • Take the second door frame and lay it on the surface of the glued hardboard. After that, back apply a layer of paint on the lower hardboard and do the laying of insulation;
  • And now we take the self-tapping screws and along the contour we sandwich. The length of the screw should be slightly less than two frames. And at first it is necessary to drill a hole with a drill smaller in half from the screw diameter and make a reduction to hide the screw cap. And with this installation, we will not crack the wooden blank. We need to reliably pull down the structure so that there are no gaps left. We will have two door frames, which are tightened between each other and between them a hardboard. This design will be durable and reliable and will not be purged;
  • Now we put the third billet on the sandwich, and we place the front part upwards. Before masonry, the inside should be smeared with paint at the points of contact. On the top we nail the hardboard with small nails with a small cap. At the same time it is better to use nails from non-ferrous metal;
  • Now we do the processing of the ends of the door. To do this, use a plane and then complete the treatment with sandpaper;
  • After that, if your door is covered with plywood, then you can simply carry out the treatment with varnish. If you used hardboard, then you should just paint.

The door is ready. You can attach handles and curtains and hang. This design will be warm enough and will not contribute to the accumulation of condensate.
