The design of the arches - a modern look at the classic
Perhaps the first arch, known to man, was the entrance to the cave. That is, the arches appeared long before people began to use the doors, and since then they have always been used to decorate the interior, almost without changing with time. But modern designers have their own view on the design of arches.
Builders and finishers often offer their customers very primitive versions of arches - this is either a classic symmetrical opening with a minimum of decor, or another extreme - an imitation of luxurious palace interiors using a large amount of stucco.
In this article, we want to invite you to see how the arches in the interior of different rooms can look different, how to correctly "link" them with those building structures that cannot be dismantled. And if by themselves the ceiling beams, ventilation channels and other projections look unattractive, then in combination with the designer arch they become the highlight of the interior.

Arches in different rooms
Arches in the hall and corridor
In the hallways, corridors and halls, the arches help to avoid the monotony of the situation, open up a perspective view of the rooms behind them, add elegance to the interior. Even if a transverse arched transom is made above a standard rectangular interior door, it will instantly change the overall impression of the apartment.

Interior arches
Today open-plan apartments are in fashion. But a studio apartment without a single visible separation of functional areas does not create a feeling of comfort.
Just in this case, the interior design of the arch helps to make it softer: the feeling of spaciousness remains, but work and rest areas are clearly distinguished.

Note! It is necessary to follow the main rule: the wider the light opening of the arch, the better the rooms should be in harmony with each other - both in style and in the color scheme used.
Narrow interior arches are also used quite often, especially in small apartments, where they allow you to save space on the doors and create a feeling of greater freedom. In this case, the design of the arches should not be very rich and attract attention.

Arches in the room
So:
- The arch does not have to serve as a transition point from one room to another, it also looks great inside the room. For example, in the bedroom it may be an arch-alcove, in which the bed or dressing table is located.
- In the common room with the help of the arch stand out the dining area and recreation area..

- If the room was combined with a loggiathen it is the arched opening that allows you to elegantly and beautifully decorate those parts of the wall construction that cannot be demolished.
- Even in the bathroom, the arch that separates the font from the rest of the room looks very elegant. and creates an additional feeling of comfort.
- На кухне designer arches чаще всего появляются при объединении этого обычно небольшого помещения с лоджией или утепленным балконом. In the case when only the window-door unit can be dismantled according to building standards, the former window sill becomes a decorative element of the arch and a fully functional bar counter.

- The arch looks very appropriate in the kitchen in country style. - in the alcove formed by it the stove with an oven is most often installed. This allows you to beat the inconveniently placed ventilation shaft, making it one of the supports of the arched vault.
Structural complementary elements of the arch
We have already mentioned how using arched structures you can disguise the ventilation channels and parts of the supporting walls that cannot be dismantled. But some designs themselves can decorate the arch (see Arch design - the choice of style and materials) or make it more functional.
Beams
The wide beam in the entire length or width of the room allows you to create an interesting design of the arch in the apartment - just under the ceiling. Arch arch can be solid and heavy or openwork, lightweight, with inserts of stained glass, glass, forged or carved elements.

If this requires an interior style, under the arches of such arches, you can install columns, pilasters or sculptures.
Bar counters
The bar counter, as if growing out of the arched opening between the kitchen and the dining room or living room, allows you to visually combine these rooms. At the same time, the bar counter is not only a decorative element, but also a very practical detail of the decor - it allows you to have a snack or have a quick breakfast without taking out any cutlery and dishes from the kitchen.

Through niches and shelves
Often the design of the arches is created in such a way as to make them a spectacular decoration for the room. This can be achieved by arranging through niches around the arch and small shelves on which you can arrange various elements of decor.
Most often, the arches of such an original construction are made of drywall (see Arch from drywall). This is one of the few materials that allows you to give free rein to your imagination and not limit yourself to the desire to make the interior of your apartment truly individual.
