How to make a wrought porch - prestigious and beautiful
The porch is an integral part of any home. It will always decorate the building and protect it from the weather. It will give the structure the desired look and emphasize the style preferences of the owner of the house.
Many make a porch wrought. Metal goes well with any architectural style. The ladder can be made of any material and it will look perfectly and harmoniously against the background of forged elements. Will add aesthetics and finish the invented composition visor.
Advantages and disadvantages
This porch can be made with your own hands.
You can determine the many advantages of this design:
- Such a porch is durable;
- When used properly, it is not deformed;
- Low weight;
- Emphasizes the elegance of the building.
The disadvantages include:
- High price;
- Relatively long production time;
- Periodic tinting and processing of elements;
The porch is the hallmark of the home. Many details of the design can be made forged and combined with stone, brick or wood (see the design of the porch to your taste). Forged balusters are perfectly combined with wooden railing.
We should not forget that the porch serves not only the appearance, it is also:
- Protection of the door from external influences;
- Snow and rain will not interfere with entering the house (the castle will not freeze in the cold);
- A guest who comes with you will be pleased to stand nearby;
- You can safely place next to bags and things.
Making a porch
Visor
It can be made using different materials and by individual design.
For external coating, as a rule, apply:
- Decking;
- Galvanized sheets;
- Asbestos cement sheets (flat and wavy;
- Polycarbonate;
- Glass.
The most important requirement for the manufacture of a visor is the strength and rigidity of the structure itself. This can be achieved by using as the material of the rolled metal or bar. This visor will be strong enough and will withstand the load of snow in winter.
The second requirement, you can put giving the desired shape. It should contribute to the outflow of water and not interfere with the snow. Polycarbonate is suitable for fulfilling this requirement (see polycarbonate porch).
To make a visor, you need the following tools:
- Welding 220V;
- Bulgarian, drill, drill set;
- Screwdriver and bits;
- Measuring instruments.
For the manufacture of the frame of the visor, use a metal pipe of rectangular or square cross section. Make the coating of polycarbonate, the size of which is selected based on the amount of bending.
Many colors and shades on the market make it possible to choose the material for the shade of the roof, then it will look harmonious.
Such a visor is the right choice for several reasons:
- Durable;
- Low weight;
- Easy installation;
- Flexible, allows you to make any desired shape;
- Well passes light;
- Will protect from ultraviolet rays;
- Tolerates any temperature;
- It has good strength.
Installation steps:
- Prepare the material for machining metal surfaces. For polycarbonate fasteners stock up self-tapping screws, the length of which must match the selected profile. Do not forget the gaskets for mounting, they will protect from moisture penetration through the hole.
- In order to give the profile pipe a semicircular shape, it is required to make grinders in the metal with a sharp edge inwards;
- When bent, the wide part of the notch will join, then weld the joint by welding;
- Make these two blanks. Next, connect them with transverse tubes along the length that was chosen earlier;
- Weld one cross-section pipe with an angle of 90 * to the cross-pieces that are at the bottom and connect these vertical segments with the other two edges of the braces. Get triangular brackets. They will be secured on both sides of the door.
- All welded metal joints should be grinded and painted. After installing the polycarbonate visor, it will be impossible to do.
- After drying, place and fix the made frame on the wall.
- Gradually bending polycarbonate, attach it to the frame with self-tapping screws.
Attention: After stripping joints from excess welding, the metal should be degreased before painting. It is best to go through the rust converter and, after drying, wipe the plaque with a dry rag after drying. At the end of this do the painting.
Forging elements
Forged elements serve as a wonderful decoration of the porch (see. Making the porch). The railing shown in the figure, it is possible to make at home.

You should prepare the necessary tool:
- Welding capacity of 220V;
- Zubilo;
- Hammer;
- A piece of pipe about 0.5 m., With a diameter slightly larger than the workpiece.
Getting Started:
- First, the frame is made railings. After that, forged products are made and attached to the frame.
- For such an ornament is required to purchase a square metal full-bodied, with a cross section of up to 14 mm. (the more powerful one is required to be annealed, since the metal is springing up, it is difficult to process (it does not hold the size). Therefore, for a square more powerful, it is necessary to leave (heat and allow to cool in the natural environment).
- We draw a sketch of the pattern we want to see on the railing;
- On a sheet of metal with a thickness of about 1 mm, we transfer the prepared drawing;
- At the places of bending we weld pieces of reinforcement 5 cm long;
- Put the square to the first post and grab it by welding;
- At the other end we dress the pipe and begin to bend (at the turning points we have columns), when bending at the place of contact with the reinforcement, we make tapping with a hammer on the workpiece (this will remove the metal tension a little and it will spring less);
- Having finished the bend, we knock down the tack with the chisel from the first post. Item is ready.
Attention: If you need to maintain an exact size, make a stock release. If this is not done, the welded workpiece after detaching from the clamps increases the dimensions by approximately 5 mm. Consider it.
To maintain the exact size of the pattern is quite difficult. The most important thing is to respect the identity of the elements. When you weld the curved elements into the frame for the railing and there is not enough several millimeters to connect, you can always tighten the clamp and weld.
So it is clear that there is no difficulty. Having made a forged porch yourself, you will save an impressive amount.
