In September 2002, the State Construction Committee of the Russian Federation approved and put into effect the GOST on plastic doors “Door blocks of polyvinyl chloride profiles” (GOST 30970–2002). This document classifies PVC doors according to various criteria, obliges manufacturers to fulfill specified technical requirements and approves the block designation scheme.

Since this standard applies only to swing plastic doors of the frame structure, by their constructive solution they, like all other swing doors, are divided into:

• Single-sided (right and left) and double-sided (with blades of the same or different width).
• With opening or stationary transom (see. Door transom).
• With a threshold, without it, and also with a frame box, i.e. when the role of the threshold is played by the lower bar of the box, which has the same profile and is welded with vertical bars.

According to the performance of the profile systems

Profile systems of blocks can differ in the number of cameras. Accordingly, the division occurs on this basis for products with 2, 3 or more chamber profiles.

By type of finish

According to the type of finishing the profiles that make up the plastic doors - GOST 30970–2002 allocates blocks:

Structural designation of plastic doors according to GOST

If you are completely unfamiliar with the content of the GOST metal-plastic doors, then you simply cannot understand what the set of letters and numbers in their passport means. For example, how to figure out what means the DPVM O B Dv 2000–1400 GOST 30970–2002?

In fact, everything is simple: the door block of PVC profiles is an internal interroom, glazed, double-glazed, without a threshold, 2000 mm high and 1400 mm wide, manufactured according to GOST 30970–2002.

How to decipher the notation

So:

• The first three letters indicate the type of product: DPA - internal door block of PVC profiles, DPN - external.

For reference. After designating the type of product, a letter specification of the purpose of the block is allowed. For example, M - interroom, C - plumbing, T - tambourny.

• Then follows the designation of the option of filling the canvas: O - glazed, D - deaf, C - light or D - decorative.

• The third letter means a constructive solution: B - without a threshold, P - with a threshold, F - with a transom, K - a closed box. The letters L or Pr, following them - an indication of the left or right direction of opening the single-door door; Dv - double plastic door.

• The numbers, as it is easy to guess, are the dimensions of the canvas in height and width in millimeters. Also allowed to enter in the designation of the width of the profile box.

Technical requirements

Requirements for construction, dimensions and maximum deviations, filling cloths, PVC profiles, as well as metal-plastic doors for devices on the door, are also very rigidly regulated by the GOST. In addition, it reflects the methods of quality control of products, the rules for their acceptance, packaging, storage and transportation.

Performance specifications

This information is unlikely to interest the average consumer, but it is necessary to know some of the characteristics that exterior and entrance doors must have, designed to preserve the normal microclimate in the room.

It:

• Given the resistance to heat transfer, which, depending on the thickness of the insulation should be from 0.8 to 1.2 m? HC / W.
• Breathability - no more than 3.5 m? / (CHM2).
• Sound insulation - not less than 26 dBA.

Also on the door plastic GOST sets the number of opening-closing cycles (at least 500 thousand) and the number of conventional years of operation of individual elements of the structure. For PVC profiles - not less than 40 years, for double-glazed windows - not less than 20 years and for sealing gaskets - not less than 10 years.

Strength groups

Plastic blocks are divided into groups according to their resistance to static loads, operating dynamic loads, strength of welded corners and other characteristics. In total there are three groups (A, B and C), the strongest are the door blocks of group A.

Requirements for door devices

According to the requirements of GOST, door hinges and devices on the door systems of PVC profile are installed only special, designed for use in such systems.

The number of hinges, their location, as well as the type and method of fixing the locking mechanisms is determined based on the operating conditions of the door, the weight and size of the opening elements. Door devices, fasteners and hinges, in turn, must comply with the requirements of GOST 538–88.
