Gost - metal and armored doors

Doors

Many door manufacturers and dealers often proudly call their products armored, silent or not realizing that crack resistance and a metal door are not the same thing. For the standardization of concepts, GOST for metal doors were developed: GOST is a specific system of product standards approved at the state level.

State standards for metal doors in the Russian Federation

На все metal doors GOST был разработан и опубликован в 1997 году официальный нормативный акт P-510722-97. Также был издан акт ГОСТ5089-97, который классифицирует запирающие механизмы.

GOST requirements for metal doors

General technological conditions in the most detailed form are specified in the GOST standard number 23747–88, which applies to metal doors, with the exception of special-purpose door structures (see How to choose a metal door).

In accordance with this standard are called:

  • valid parameters resistance to heat transfer and air penetration in the doors;
  • list of requirements to the stability of doors and their strength during operation, as well as their installation and transportation;
  • performance requirements decorative protective coating;
  • parameters of gaps and errorsrequirements for components and materials;
  • transportation requirements, packaging standards and more.

In addition to the above, the parameters for monitoring the testing of doors are indicated. For example, on static and wind load, on heat transfer. Each door is required to have a passport and the corresponding operating and installation instructions, as well as the warranty period specified in the documents.

One of the documents defining the list of requirements that must be met by the door unit, the locking device and the metal door - GOST 31173–2003. In addition, door units of PVC profiles are governed by GOST 30970–2002.

There are also GOST requirements for methods of recognizing the technical characteristics of window and door units:

  • Wind load resistance (described in GOST 26602.5–2001)
  • Light transmittance (described in GOST 26602.4–99)
  • Air and water resistant (described in GOST 266602.2–99)
  • Sound insulation (described in GOST 266602.3–99)
  • Teploperedača (described in GOST 266602.1-99)

Another GOST is the regulatory act to which a metal door must comply: GOST 31173–2003: “Metal door blocks. Technical Conditions ”, which was developed by FSUE Gosstroy of the Russian Federation and adopted by the international regulatory organization MHTKC on the fourteenth of May, two thousand and three.

This document gives the regulation of the division of metal doors into classes, in accordance with their technical characteristics: sound and heat insulation, the degree of resistance to mechanical stress, air and water resistance, etc.

Crack resistance

According to the regulations, all metal burglary doors are divided into thirteen classes. Some of them (four classes) belong to household products, all others - to bank and safe deposit boxes (see. Safe doors will protect your apartment from hacking).

The value of resistance to hacking - Es, is schematically expressed by the wording: Ec = k * t + b, in which k is the base value of the technical equipment used, t is the time it takes to open the door with this tool, as well as the noise level generated and b is the base value of the means used, which expresses the complexity of their delivery and application on site.

Basic numerical values of k are given in the relevant documentation. Slightly above it was mentioned that according to the standards for GOST, a metal door can be assigned to one of four classes. The same classification is inherent in armored doors. Do not confuse these concepts.

The thickness of the steel at ordinary metal doors, according to the regulations, is a generalized parameter, and must correspond to no less than two millimeters. Classification is carried out using the value of Es, that is, the coefficient measuring the resistance to cracking.

GOST metal doors

Most often this value and its relation to one or another class is considered at the time of the certification procedures and recorded in the accompanying documentation for the product.

The thickness of the armored doors, and its nominal canvas - the most important factor that determines which group of the GOST door metal refers. Models in the first to third classes should have a steel thickness of at least eight millimeters.

As a filler material, which provides sound and heat insulation qualities, mineral wool or foam should be used (see Insulation for entrance doors). Doors belonging to the fourth class must be completed with steel sheet with a thickness of eight to twelve millimeters.

The resistance of metal doors to static loads is reflected in the division of doors into three subgroups: M1, as well as M2 and M3.

Standards GOST: metal doors are listed in the table

metal doors GOST

Locks

Classification shares:

  • the corresponding metal doors to the GOST, which are equipped with locks of the third and fourth classes (GOST 5089);
  • reinforced metal doors, which are equipped with third and fourth grade locks (GOST 5089), as well as multi-purpose locks, locking around the perimeter and reinforced hinges.

Security doors metal have locks with enhanced performance and belong to the class M1 with regard to the level of resistance to static load. On the security doors must be installed locks, A and B-classes, providing the desired level of privacy when unlocking the door.

Security unlocking according to GOST R51072-97.

The number of locking structures included in the locking mechanism should correspond to the minimum parameters of the guests on the metal doors specified in the table.

Summing up, I must say that there is no single, generalizing all the classification parameters for GOST on metal doors. Some of them may correspond to the first class in the degree of breaking resistance, class M2 in strength, and be equipped with 1–2 class locks.

Therefore, choosing a door you need to pay close attention to all the parameters provided by sellers and manufacturers, so that you choose the optimal set of operational and technical characteristics of the door to be bought.
