Doors wooden gost - gost guarantees quality

To choose high-quality wooden doors - a certificate for them must be asked from the seller. If it is, it means that you are dealing with products of a responsible manufacturer that complies with all technical conditions and standards.

It should be noted that the certification of wooden doors is not an obligatory procedure, only those manufacturers who are confident in the quality of their products voluntarily undergo it.

And if the product still has a certificate - wooden doors and all elements of their design are made in accordance with the requirements of GOST. This means that you will not have to repair or replace doors in the near future.

GOST 6629-88

The manufacture of wooden doors is regulated by GOST 6629-88. Having a certificate of compliance with this standard means that the door was manufactured in compliance with the technology of quality materials.

In addition, this GOST on wooden doors determines the parameters of attachment points, glazing (if provided), installation in the opening, etc. Despite the fact that these standards have been used for a very long time, and in the years that have passed since they were adopted, many new finishing materials have appeared, there have been no major changes in the basic technology of door production.

As before, today the requirements for the quality of wood and the permissible deviations from the specified dimensions are in the first place.

Do not think that only the domestic production of wooden doors GOST extends. Imported products are also subject to regulation, for this there is an International Standard for doors for residential, administrative and public buildings.

The standards contained in it define the general properties of wooden structures and structures made of wood derivatives - veneered sheets, fibreboard, etc.

All components of the wooden door block, up to the sealing gaskets or glass inserts (see Decorative glass for doors: how to choose correctly), should be checked by the manufacturer for compliance with the technical conditions of manufacture. The results of this check are recorded in the accompanying documents.

In our homes, the most common type of doors are shallow-filled panel doors. The noise and thermal insulation properties (see How to insulate the entrance wooden door) of such a door depend on the type of filling, and its decorative characteristics depend on the quality of the finishing.

But there are also such parameters as functionality and durability, which are determined by the observance of all sizes of individual parts and their proper layout. If you look at the passport, which is attached to each batch of doors, you can find completely incomprehensible to a person ignorant designations.

For example: DO20-16 LP GOST 6629-88, PG21-10 N GOST 6629-88. To decipher them, you need to know the classification of GOST doors wooden:

• First letter D Is the door, and P is the door leaf without the box.
• The second letter indicates the type of construction.where G is a deaf canvas, Y is a reinforced canvas, O is glazed, and K is swinging (that is, able to open in any direction relative to a fixed axis).
• The numbers following the letters are the height and width of the opening in decimeters..
• The letters after the numbers indicate the design features of the door.: P - threshold, H - with overlapping, L - opening to the left side (opening to the right is not indicated in any way).

Thus, the cipher DO20-16 LP GOST 6629-88 designates a double-glazed double-sided door for an opening height of 20 and a width of 16 dm, opening to the left with a threshold, wooden doors manufactured according to GOST. At the request of consumers, the standard allows the manufacture of a door block of other sizes, as well as different widths of canvases for double-glazed doors of double-glazed doors.

In this case, the consumer should be aware that the entire door unit, that is, the canvas and the box, must be made of the same type of raw material and supplied in full set.

GOST guarantees practicality and convenience

The buyer himself chooses the type of finish of the wooden door and the type of its design, focusing on their preferences and the feasibility of installing just such a door. But the quality of the internal elements of the door is difficult or even impossible to verify if the wooden certificate is not provided by the supplier for the doors.

The certificate of compliance with regulatory requirements gives the buyer the assurance that all technical requirements for the manufacture of this model of the door have been met.

GOST defines:

• Door hinge height

• Ways of fastening door accessories
• Location of fillers
• The thickness of the ribs frame
• Ways to connect strapping, etc.

These requirements arose not from nowhere, but from many years of practice in the operation of doors and trial tests, which made it possible to determine the most convenient parameters from a functional point of view.

The location of the devices at the points specified by the GOST allows for optimal distribution of the forces applied to them to the entire door structure. That is, from the position of preserving the integrity of the door, the expediency of these standards is clear.

On how well the fillers are located in the body of the door - fiberboard strips, bars, paper honeycombs - the rigidity of the structure, the preservation of the geometrical parameters and noise absorption depend.

GOST 475-78

You should not think that GOST on wooden doors are necessarily monotonous shapes and textures, boring colors. In fact, the compliance of the door with the standard means only that it is assembled from high-quality materials in compliance with the assembly technology.

For this, there is a GOST 475-78, which regulates literally all the nuances of manufacturing wooden doors, including the quality control of raw materials and even the size of fastening screws. But this does not prevent manufacturers and designers from creating a variety of models that amaze with their design.

Door classification according to GOST 475-78

According to this standard, wooden doors vary in:

• Number of canvases

• Presence of glazing

For interior doors, such properties as ease of opening, resistance to mechanical stress are important, while complete sound insulation or increased strength are additional conditions. In the presence of a non-standard high opening, it is not always necessary to make a door to order, since GOST on wooden internal doors provides for the option of making a standard door with a transom.

It can be both deaf and glazed, which is an additional source of natural light. According to the number of canvases, the doors can be single or double doors; for double doors, it is allowed to make canvases of different widths.

In the direction of opening, swing doors differ on the right, left and swinging - turning in any direction around the vertical axis. Sliding doors and book doors can also be right or left depending on which way they open. When buying a door on the way and direction of opening it is important to pay attention.

On internal wooden doors GOST establishes the following standards:

• For rooms with constant high humidity (more than 60%), installation of moisture resistant doors is required. They are made from coniferous wood.
• In rooms with normal humidity doors are installed with normal moisture resistance. As a rule, they are made of durable and solid hardwood, resistant to decay.

As for the finish, it is carried out with transparent and opaque coatings. Transparent refers to varnish, opaque - various paints, enamels, decorative film and sheet materials.

Special requirements are imposed on the front surfaces that are visible when using the doors.

Technical conditions

1. How well a wooden door will perform its functions depends on its proper geometry. In connection with this GOST, maximum tolerances for sagging, deviations from the plane of canvases and verticals are measured, which are measured in millimeters. It is almost impossible to notice these changes with the naked eye, they are determined by measurements using special tools. But in production they must be fixed and if the tolerance is exceeded, the doors are rejected.
2. In addition, the technical conditions determine the permissible number of wood defects per unit area — cracks, knots, resin pockets. They must be sealed with stoppers of the same material, puttyed and ground. In short, the surface should be ideally prepared for subsequent coating.
3. For fine-grained filling, slats and bars with defects and rot are not allowed. All non-facial (invisible during operation) door surfaces must be treated with an antiseptic or painted.
4. In one model, the use of different wood is unacceptable: the material of the box must be identical to the material of the door leaf. In addition to preserving the decorative effect, this ensures the normal functioning of the door.

Again, if you are offered to examine the certificate upon purchase, wooden doors are made in compliance with all the above-mentioned technical conditions. In addition, the certificate of conformity ensures that the manufacturing process controlled the quality of finishing materials, the strength of adhesive and studded joints, the correct installation of devices.

GOST 475-78 stipulates the use of appropriate standards and specifications for each assembly unit of the door. In the passport of each batch of doors are recorded test results, measurement data and specifications for supplied non-assembled parts.
