In the design of the ceilings of apartments and private houses often use suspended structures. They consist of a frame and the finishing materials themselves. This article will tell you how to mount the frame of the suspended ceiling, about the existing nuances and difficulties of the work.

What are the suspended structures used frame

For the design of the ceiling, you can use different materials, some of them are mounted directly on the base, for others it is necessary to construct a frame. The latter include the following most popular finishing materials:

• plasterboard;
• polyvinyl chloride panels;
• lath designs.

In each case, the installation of the frame is carried out in different ways. In work various receptions and materials are used. Let's talk about this in more detail.

When mounting the frame for such structures use two types of profiles - UD and CD. Also worth stockpiles. Although the latter material is often not used at all.

First of all, a line is drawn along the entire perimeter of the room; the UD profile will be fastened along this mark. The distance from the ceiling is taken so that the resulting space is enough to accommodate all the necessary communications. The profile is attached to the wall in 40–60 cm steps with dowels.

When creating multi-tiered structures, the elements of the lower level frame are attached to the elements of the upper or directly to the ceiling. All work can be done using screws or bolts.

After installing the frame to it using self-tapping screws are mounted sheets of drywall. Then primed and putty all seams and caps screws. After that, the entire surface is covered with a primer and can be putty.

PVC frame

The use of PVC panels does not give such space for creativity as the use of drywall. But still, due to the low cost and ease of installation, this material is also quite popular.

When installing the frame under the panel, you can use wooden bars (size 30? 30 mm) or galvanized profile. The first option is used in dry and heated premises. The galvanized profile is universal, therefore it can be used in any rooms.

When using wooden bars they are mounted directly on the draft ceiling, without hangers. At the same time it is necessary to maintain horizontal position (constantly carry out a building level check). If small elevation differences occur, they are compensated for by laying down any suitable gasket that is necessary for the thickness.

Bars are fixed along the entire length of the ceiling with an interval of 40 cm. In this case, the direction should be perpendicular to the directivity of the installation of the panels themselves. Before this, each element of the wooden structure is better treated with antiseptic. After mounting the batten, PVC panels are attached directly to it.

If galvanized profiles are used, their installation is carried out by analogy with the installation of a drywall frame. Along the perimeter of the room is mounted UD profile. Then mounted on the suspensions or directly to the ceiling mounted CD profile. The latter is mounted in steps of 40-50 cm, perpendicular to the direction of installation of the panels.

Ceiling made of aluminum slats

The use of aluminum slats for ceiling decoration is also very popular. For the installation of the frame in this case, use special traverses, which are manufactured in the factory. The rest of the principle of work is similar to the previous one, where the fastening of metal profiles is described.

On the hangers fixed traverse, to which will be suspended aluminum slats. The procedure for fixing is quite simple. It is necessary to bring the rail to the right place and click on it to latch. If the rake is larger than the width of the room, it is easy to trim.
