Soundproofing ceiling itself
What is modern housing? This is a harmonious combination of a magnificent interior, the presence of comfortable and fashionable furniture, stylish decorative objects, as well as a wide variety of all sorts of high-tech equipment that makes our life comfortable. In principle, it may seem that this is enough to feel at home cozy and comfortable. However, when the noise becomes a stable companion of your home, it is hardly possible to call it convenient and comfortable. For this reason, should produce high-quality sound insulation of the apartment.
Before you make a ceiling noise insulation with your own hands, you should understand the difference between these or other noises.
Noise! His types and methods of struggle
A large number of residents of apartment buildings face noise from outside every day. This can be the movement of furniture on the top floor, falling on the floor of a particular object, claps, footsteps, music, and even harsh cries. All these sounds can penetrate into the apartment not only through windows and walls, but also through the ceiling. If the soundproofing installation technology has been broken, these sounds will become a strong irritant. All noises are divided into two types:
- Airborne noise This noise can be attributed to the noise that is caused by the sound oscillations of the air flow. They can be transmitted directly through the ceiling and walls from their source, loud speech or sound from a working TV / tape recorder.
- Structural noise. This type of noise can be attributed to certain mechanical actions, for example, drilling of a surface or the fall of an object on the floor. The speed of a sound wave in solids is faster than the speed of sound in air twelve times. Accordingly, drilling with a drill will be audible clearly.

Is it possible to get rid of such noises? Yes! For example, you can perform a complete soundproofing. In this case, the walls, ceiling, and floor will be protected by special insulation. But this option is expensive, as it implies a comprehensive repair of housing.
Note! Soundproofing materials require a lot of space. For this reason, the best sound insulation is best done in a spacious room.
Another option, less expensive, is a partial insulation. In this case, the technology is used tension type. This method will be ideal in cases where you have already made repairs to your home. Then you can provide sound insulation only ceiling.
So, when determining the method of noise control, it is important to take into account another important factor - the material used in the construction of the house. Each building material, panel, brick, monolith initially has noise insulation and other characteristics. For this reason, an individual approach is required in each individual case. Now consider the common materials from which houses are built, and their features relating to the quality of sound insulation.
Panel house. In such a house the best option would be complete insulation of the room. This is due to the fact that an equal mass of walls and floors is easy to transmit the resulting noise through all the structures up or down. Therefore, if you make noise isolation of one ceiling, there will be no effect. You will need to lay soundproofing material on the walls and floor.

Brick house. In such buildings, it is enough to make a partial noise insulation, so finishing one ceiling can completely solve the problem of noise.
Monolithic frame house. As a rule, such houses have very thin and light partitions. Accordingly, they contribute to the rapid penetration of noise. Moreover, exterior walls, which are most often made of foam concrete or hollow brick, are additional thermal insulation and increase the rate of indirect noise transmission.
Sound insulation manufacturing methods

Thanks to modern developments, today it is not difficult to create a reliable noise insulation of the ceiling. The most popular and common method is the installation of acoustic suspended ceilings, as well as the ceiling plasterboard with noise insulation material. In his capacity can serve a variety of materials, namely:
- chamotte,
- linen tow mat
- basalt wool
- cork coating
- reed plate,
- foamed glass
- coconut cloth,
- polyurethane foam blocks,
- cellulose wool,
- staple fiberglass,
- peat fiber insulation.

To install one or another sound-proof material, installation of an additional ceiling system is required:
- stretch ceiling
- forged ceiling,
- false ceiling.

A sound-proofing material is installed between the finishing of the ceiling and the roughing one. Depending on the material used, its attachment may be slightly different.
A way to increase sound absorption
When the repair in your home is already finished, you can reduce the noise level by installing an acoustic stretch ceiling. It has a perforated fabric base, which in turn absorbs noise. In this case, the important role of the ceiling height. This is due to the fact that the height of the finished structure ranges from 120 to 170 mm. Therefore, this technology will be effective in a room with a ceiling height of at least three meters.

The sound-absorbing structure is formed by combining a layer of sound-absorbing mineral wool and an acoustic suspended ceiling in the space between the ceiling and the suspended ceiling itself. The noise that enters the room through the walls and floor absorbs the ceiling surface. The effectiveness of the system depends on the layer of sound insulating material.

Among other things, the cork ceiling is very popular. Thanks to the porous structure and the special molecular structure of the cork, natural noise absorption is ensured. In general, today, thanks to innovative technologies, a large number of noise insulation materials are being produced. The most important thing is that their installation can be done by hand, without the help of specialists. So, now we bring to your attention several types of noise insulation materials that are used today for sound insulation of the ceiling.
Materials for sound insulation ceiling
Materials vary in the amount of decibels they absorb. The decibel in turn represents a relative value, for example, multiplicity or percentage. This value measures the sound pressure, which is numerically equal to the volume level of the sound. For example, if decibels are translated “times”, then a material that has a sound absorption characteristic of 1 dB improves sound insulation by 1.25 times (respectively, 3DB - twice, 10 dB, ten times). Based on this, we consider and compare the popular noise insulation materials from different manufacturers. This will allow you to make the right choice.

ISOTEX (Изотекс). ISOTEX is an innovative noise insulation material that does not take up space during installation. At the same time, the technology of its installation is quite simple. If ISOTEX is laid with a thickness of 12 mm, it is possible to provide a sound absorption coefficient of up to - 23 dB. The basis of this material are heat and sound insulation plates. The topcoat is foil paper that reduces heat loss through the ceiling.

This material is attached to the ceiling using liquid nails using thorn-groove technology. Due to this, a seamless and frameless surface is formed.

ISOPLAAT (Isoplat). The ISOPLAAT range simultaneously performs two functions, namely, heat and sound insulation. At the same time for its installation will require a space of 25 mm. The basis of this plate is natural coniferous wood, which does not contain any adhesive or synthetic additives. ISOPLAAT perfectly protects your home from trying to break into the room noise. These plates have the ability to absorb all sounds. ISOPLAAT plate with a thickness of 12 mm reaches a noise isolation coefficient of 23 dB, 25 mm? 26 db.

Installation of such plates is carried out using special glue. You must first align the surface of the ceiling. These plates have one side rough and wavy, so that the sound waves dissipate, and the second - smooth, it can later be painted or wallpaper paste, in some cases it is also plastered.
Acoustics for wallpaper sounds. This noise insulation material is used for both walls and ceiling. The technical characteristics of the soundproofing membrane will reduce noise by 21 dB. This membrane is protected on both sides by paper. It is sold in roll. After gluing it to the wall / ceiling from above, wallpaper is stuck on without difficulty.
Topsilent Bitex (Polipiombo). The soundproofing membrane, which is four millimeters thick, absorbs noise up to 24 dB.

And these are just some noise and sound insulation materials that can help you effectively combat noise. Thanks to modern developments, it is possible to combine any of the above listed materials with a finishing material.
We start work on ceiling noise insulation
Сейчас рассмотрим как выполнить монтаж шумоизоляционой системы «Премиум», «Comfort» и «Economy».

Soundproofing system "Premium". To install it, you will need to apply 2 layers of Teksaund 70 and 2 layers of gypsum plasterboards. All work is done in the following sequence:
- You put a layer of Thermo Sound on the ceiling.
- On top of them, glue and dowels stick on a layer of Teksaund 70 sound insulation material.
- Next, mount the suspensions on rods or direct suspensions on the ceiling.
- After that, fasten the profile of 60? 27 and make the crates. The whole structure can be very heavy, for this reason you should take care of additional fasteners. On average, 5 suspensions per 1 m should be taken into account.2.
- The space between the profiles is filled with Rockwool sound insulating mineral slabs.
- The front surface of the profile that faces the ceiling should be pasted over with strips of membrane Teksaund 70.
- Then drywall is mounted on the profile. Next, you glue another layer of Teksaund 70 on it, and a sheet of drywall on top.
Note! The Premium noise insulation system will be more effective when a layer of mineral wool and Texound 70 membrane material provides space from 20 to 200 mm. This thickness should provide a finished system thickness from 90 mm to 270 mm. Therefore, in this case, you will need to choose between a well-designed noise insulation system or the volume of the room.

Шумоизоляционая система «Comfort». Принцип установки системы «Comfort» похож на систему «Премиум». Но в ней есть две отличительные особенности, а именно: между слоем Тексаунда 70 и слоем минеральной плиты отсутствует воздушная прослойка.
In this case, the gypsum plasterboard in the composition with Teksaund 70 membrane is completely replaced by a single GCR sheet, as well as by a Teksaund 70 layer. As a result, the finished structure will be a maximum of 80 mm thick.

Noise isolation system "Economy". This system has the general principle of installation with the Economy system. In this case, one layer of Teksaund 70 fits. But even here there are some distinctive features.
The layer of ThermoSound and Texaunda 70 is not necessary to be mounted directly on the floor slab.
Each direct suspension is wrapped on each side with a Texound 70 membrane. The whole structure will be 66 mm thick.
Noise insulation stretch ceiling and suspended acoustic ceilings

Suspended acoustic ceilings are specifically designed to absorb noise. Also acoustic suspended ceilings can reliably hide all the irregularities of the floors. And most importantly, such a system has a beautiful appearance. Installation of acoustic suspension system is very easy and quick with your own hands. For a start, the ceiling marking is done. After, with the help of special suspensions and rails installed design. The soundproofing plate is laid in the cells, which should be moisture-proof and fireproof. Fiber glass or mineral wool can be used as sound insulation.

As for the stretch ceiling, then by itself their design has a sound insulating property. This is one of the advantages over the suspended ceiling. Stretch ceiling dampens sound due to the soft texture. So, all the work is done according to the following principle:
- With the help of glue and screws, the soundproofing material is fixed on the ceiling.
- At the required distance mounted design for stretch ceiling. Next, the necessary communications are posted.
- At the end of stretched canvas.
So, we talked in detail in this article about the types of noise, and how to deal with it. If you already have experience in performing such works, then you can leave your comments at the end of this article. So, you can share your practical experience with others.
