Wooden houses from profiled timber: characteristics and
In recent years, one of the most popular materials for the construction of low-rise buildings has become a profiled bar. This was made possible thanks to a number of advantages that it has. One of its key advantages is the simplicity with which wooden houses are built from profiled timber.
We will talk about this and a number of other issues now.

Characteristics of the material
Benefits
The positive features of the profiled bars include the following:
- ecological purity of products - the material has no artificial impurities. The only exceptions are glued samples;
- nice appearance - the built house will look very beautiful;
- good thermal insulation properties - due to the presence of protrusions and grooves increases heat saving. In this case, it is in no way inferior to the indicators of a rounded log. A bar with a cross section of 190 * 190 mm in its heat-shielding properties is equal to a log with a diameter of 320 mm;

- profitability - for the construction of such a construction will require a smaller amount of material than in the case of using cylindrical blanks;
- slight shrinkage of log from timber - in this case it is up to 4 centimeters;
- ease of assembly - such a building is going to literally as a children's designer;
- reasonable price - compared to glued products, the price of profiled solid timber is almost two times lower;
- no shrinkage after shrinking is required - the presence of a system of protrusions and grooves, together with a packed sealant, eliminates this need;
- water flowing into walls is excluded - again, due to the shape of the profile. This, in turn, protects materials from rotting;
- the number of cracks on the sides is less than that of logs - this fact is due to the fact that the bars have 4 faces - this reduces the stress in the material.

disadvantages
They consist in the fact that:
- A wooden house from a profiled bar that has not undergone a drying procedure will have a long period of shrinkage - up to one and a half years. And this is not always acceptable;
- additional antiseptic treatment will be required if this was not done at the factory.
The construction of the house of profiled timber
Preparatory stage
First of all, you need to prepare project documentation for the future home. You can consider the typical designs of wooden houses from profiled timber and purchase one of them. Such documents are abundant in any specialized construction company.

You will also need to purchase all the necessary materials. It is worth buying them immediately from one supplier. This will allow you to get a discount and thus save.
Tip! It is best to buy dry profiled bars. Unlike products of natural humidity, they will not bring you any additional problems during the construction and subsequent operation of housing.
Foundation creation
Timber building weighs much less brick. Therefore, a small, for example, columnar base is enough for it.
In this case, the pillars should be located at the corners of the house, as well as at the intersections of the walls. For the rest of the perimeter they are located at a distance of one and a half meters from each other. Concrete blocks can be used to speed up the process.

Installation of the first crown
The first crown is the lowest row of bars. That he is the most vulnerable link in the whole structure. This is because this crown is closest to the foundation and to the ground.
Therefore, before laying this series, you must first mount waterproofing. As it applies ruberoid, which is placed on a layer of bitumen mastic.

Further, a lining bar is mounted with its own hands, which should be at least 100 millimeters thick. It is best to use larch for this purpose.
This type of wood is least susceptible to rotting. But it should still be treated with antiseptic composition.
After that, we mount the first row of bars. The elements used here should have only one profiled side. They are interconnected by the method of "half-timbered".

Before assembly, they must be treated with an antiseptic on all sides. After it dries, the row is assembled and a seal is laid on its upper plane. As it is usually used jute thickness of 5 millimeters.
Tip! For greater structural reliability, the first two crowns should be made from larch. Its service life is much longer than that of pine or spruce products.
We pay special attention to the fact that antiseptic processing is carried out just before the assembly of elements. This is due to the fact that after installing the log house, you will be able to process only the available surfaces. Although in applying a protective composition they need everything.
It is best to apply formulations from reputable manufacturers. This is to some extent a guarantee of product quality. Examples include firms such as Tikkurila and Senezh. As for the order of their application, the instruction attached to the composition will tell you about it.
Installation of the remaining crowns
The remaining bars are laid using the same method, connecting them “in the half-tree” and laying jute. The method of its installation depends on the type of profile. If it is Finnish, then the tape is laid along the entire length of the beam on its middle part.

But usually jute is placed only on the corner joints. After all, they are the most vulnerable places at home.
The thickness of such a seal is 5 millimeters. But this is enough to minimize the air flow through the walls.
In the process of further assembly of the log house it is necessary to use dowels. So called pins that fasten together the elements of a wooden structure.
They have a round or square cross section. Make them of wood or metal. They are needed so that in the process of shrinkage the profiled wooden bar does not turn out, and so that gaps between the elements do not appear.
Tip! Do not use as nails nails. They do not cope well with the bend load.
These fasteners will be much easier to use if you follow these guidelines:
- they need to connect no more than two bars;
- elements should be alternated in a checkerboard pattern, and the distance between them should not exceed one and a half meters;
- wooden dowels should have the same degree of humidity as timber;
- to install them, holes are drilled with a depth of 1.5 bars and a diameter exceeding the size of the fastener by no more than 1 millimeter;
- the length of the fasteners should be 20-30 millimeters less than the length of the hole;
- they should be clogged very carefully, using a rubber hammer for this purpose.

Conclusion
Timber profiled and wooden houses - created from it, are becoming increasingly popular. The reason for this lies in the advantages that this material has. These include, in particular, its environmental friendliness, pleasant appearance and good thermal insulation properties.
Having decided to build a house of bars, you need first of all to take care of the preparation of the project of construction. It is best to purchase ready-made project documentation in a construction company. It will contain all the necessary calculations made by experts.
In the process of assembling the structure you need to take into account some important points. About them it was told above. In addition, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the video posted here. The video in this article will clearly demonstrate the specified theme, look!
