We build a claydite house using improvised blocks
Today, more and more people want to build housing for their own family on their own, without attracting a contractor. All building materials are chosen by themselves, since the supply of the construction market today is truly limitless, everyone will find a product at will, and, as they say, can afford it. In this article we will discuss how to make a house of claydite-concrete with your own hands and the advantages of this material.

Expanded clay for the construction of houses
We offer you ceramsite concrete houses, the construction of which does not require you to overwork and capital investments, moreover, it will not be delayed for many years. Of course, you can say that modern construction allows you to create prefabricated houses from a variety of existing materials, but do not forget about the budget. Not everyone can afford a brick or timber structure.
Various projects of the claydite house offer two options for basic constructs:
- Monolithic. This method involves pouring claydite in the formwork.
- Blocky. As the name implies, this method means the erection of walls of expanded clay concrete blocks.
Why exactly keramsit concrete?
Because this material has all the qualities of building materials for the installation of supporting structures to the highest degree:
- Strength.
- Durability.
- Excellent heat and sound insulation.
- Frost resistance
- Low weight.
- Easy to work.
Note! One of the most valuable properties for a modern person living among many different chemical emissions is that claydite concrete is environmentally friendly and safe. It is harmless to both human health and the environment.
Own production of lightweight aggregate blocks
One of the advantages of this wall material is the quite affordable manufacture of expanded clay concrete blocks at home. Many particularly zealous owners, having decided to build, are taken independently and for the production of blocks.
For this purpose you will need the following equipment:
- Vibro machine.
- Concrete mixer.

Concrete mixer, as you know, in any case, it will be very useful to you when building a house in the future. With its help, it will be necessary to mix more than one mortar bucket and, subsequently, a finishing mortar, and how much more concrete will be needed to fill the foundation for the claydite-concrete house!

Tip! A vibrating machine for the production of blocks of the selected material can be rented. The price of the service cannot be compared with the cost of purchasing equipment, and then in your hands you can prepare the blocks in the shortest possible time.
Types of vibration equipment
Vibration plants for the production of expanded clay concrete blocks are produced by modern manufacturers of similar equipment in various versions:
- Small-sized manual vibromachines - great for home made homemade building blocks. Inside the machine are special forms - hollow, they can be removable or stationary. On equipment with removable forms, you can make both solid and hollow blocks.
Note! The vibrator is attached to the installation body and, creating small vibrations, evenly distributes the concrete mix in form, at the same time compacting it. The approximate cost of such a vibrobank does not exceed 10,000 rubles.

- Vibrotable can also be used at home, this equipment is a pallet attached with a vibrator on the bed. Forms for blocks are installed on a pallet, filled with mortar and subjected to vibration. At the end of the seal, the pallet is removed for final drying of the blocks. In one approach, up to 6 forms can be installed on a pallet.
- Vibration presses and mobile mechanized machines They are more productive, but this equipment is no longer for handicrafts.

Manufacturing technology and composition of lightweight aggregate
The next question that should be mastered before making claydite-concrete blocks at home is the recipe of the mixture.
The composition of the classic mixture for the production of wall blocks is as follows (the ingredients are designed for the preparation of 100 kg of the mixture):
- Cement-9.21 kg.
- Sand-27.2 kg.
- Expanded clay-54.5 kg.
- Water-9.09 kg.
Material manufacturers often change the proportional composition of the mixture, also use various plasticizers as enhancers. The mixture, which includes plasticizers, is better distributed in shape and compacted, which improves the geometry of the product at the outlet, eliminates defects in the surface of the block.

Interesting! Craftsmen to increase the plasticity of the mixture is added to the manufacture of liquid soap or glue.
Design and construction of the house
The only stage of construction is design, you should not be engaged on your own, if you are certainly not a professional in this matter.
Regardless of whether you will build a typical building, or according to a unique design, it is better to give this part of the work to highly qualified specialists.
- First, you will need to obtain a building permit, and here you cannot do without a correctly executed project.
- Secondly, and most importantly, only competent calculations and drawings will provide the new building with reliability and durability.
Foundation
As a rule, a monolithic filler strip foundation is arranged for a house made of expanded clay blocks. The depth of laying the base depends on the geological features of the built-up area. This is decided on the basis of geological exploration at the design stage.
Work on pouring after digging the pit and filling it with sand is carried out in three stages:
- Formwork assembly. For this purpose, using wooden boards, or fixed polystyrene formwork.
- Installation of the spatial reinforcement cage of the desired configuration of steel rods fastened together in knots with a special knitting wire.
- Filling of lightweight aggregate mixture prepared on the construction site using a concrete mixer.
The finished foundation should be at rest at least one month before the set design strength.
Walls
Walls can be built using two technologies:
- Monolithic To build a house of monolithic claydite-concrete with their own hands, as in the case of the foundation, use collapsible or fixed formwork. Before starting the construction of the walls of the house, waterproofing and fittings are laid in two rows on the foundation. Then set shield formwork from sheets of moisture-resistant chipboard (thickness 12 mm).
Note! To make holes in the walls of our chosen material, you do not need a specialized tool. For example, cutting reinforced concrete with diamond circles or diamond drilling holes in concrete - these services will be unnecessary for a claydite-concrete house.
Shields are installed at a distance of the wall thickness (according to the project) and are securely fastened together on heels or distance struts. Now we will prepare keramsit concrete and we will start to fill in in a timbering. When the first wall belt is filled and frozen, we remove the formwork and assemble further. Before pouring the next portion of concrete on the frozen surface, we place the fiberglass reinforcement mesh.

Tip! To increase the number of cycles of turnover, removable formwork panels are covered with plastic wrap.
In the form of permanent formwork, you can use double-sided brick masonry, when the emptiness between the masonry on both sides of a half brick is filled with claydite-concrete.
Brickwork can be used from the outside, and from the inside, for example, gypsum-fiber or cement-bonded particle boards.
- Blocky. Before starting the laying of blocks, waterproofing and reinforcing mesh are laid on the foundation. It is also recommended to stack every three rows of masonry blocks to increase the rigidity of the walls. We install claydite-concrete blocks without fail with dressing on freshly prepared masonry mortar from high-quality cement.

Note! In the process of making masonry mortar, add plasticizers and mineral additives to the ingredients to increase the strength and homogeneity of the mixture.
Masonry of lightweight aggregate blocks is a simple process that can be managed alone, but if you find a partner, it will speed up the workflow.

Conclusion
We hope that the above information will help you find all the necessary answers to existing questions. At the very least, you can start independent production of blocks of expanded clay concrete, to subsequently build a country house for yourself and your loved ones.
