How to make fasteners for aerated concrete

During construction, there may be such a problem as fasteners for aerated concrete blocks - the inconvenience is that the body of the stone is porous and not able to hold any console sufficiently. But, nevertheless, we have to deal with this and there is a way out of the situation, we just need to approach this taking into account the characteristics of the material. • Building material, called aerated concrete, is a stone of cellular concrete with uniformly distributed pores with a diameter of 1 to 3 mm, which communicate with each other (stone foam). For the manufacture of this product using cement and quartz sand, which add specialized blowing agents (in some cases, the composition may also include gypsum, lime, ash, slag). The interaction of finely dispersed metallic aluminum with a cement or lime mortar forms a substance that foams the cement solution.
• The resulting material is quite easily drilled, sawn, planed with various tools such as a planer, and you can easily hammer a nail, a yoke or a self-tapping screw into a block.. Since the product consists of mineral components, it eventually increases its own density, just like cement-sand mortar (concrete). In comparison with foam concrete, this block has better strength and thermal insulation, moreover, less cement is used in its production.

Note. GOST 31359-2007 allows to erect buildings from aerated concrete blocks of not more than 5 floors, but the same instruction allows the construction of nine-floor buildings with self-supporting walls of similar stone.

Тем не менее, строительная практика говорит о том, что если использовать нужные принадлежности для фиксации, то всё оказывается возможным, к тому же процесс установки достаточно лёгкий, быстрый и простой. В лабораториях AS Teede, Tehnokeskuse были проведены испытания винта AEROC 65 мм длиной, и по сравнению с другими саморезами он показал отличные результаты - прочность на выдёргивание составила 3,765 kN (см.также статью «Облицовка газобетона: способы и их особенности»).

Самым лучшим оказался саморез для ячеистых бетонов ESSVE Heavy Load 10×185 - таким приспособлением можно осуществить крепление сайдинга к газобетону или крепление крыши к стенам из газобетона. Различные предметы с небольшой массой можно крепить своими руками к стенке достаточно быстро и легко, точно так же, как и к дереву - просто закручивая в тело шуруп или забивая гвоздь, и для этого вам не потребуется каких-либо специальных инструментов. Но при этом следует учитывать, что гвоздь, который работает на вырывание, должен иметь форму клина или хотя бы его конец должен быть изменённой формы. А вот для саморезов больше всего подходит резьба с крупным шагом по всей его длине с дюбелем необходимого диаметра (читайте также статью «Бетонирование двора: советы новичку»).

For example, for a screw with a diameter of 10 mm, take a dowel of the same section - like plastics or nylon smeared along the walls of the hole. But here you should avoid choosing short dowels - this reduces the contact area and, therefore, reduces the strength of the fixing element.

In the upper photo, you see how to mount the mauerlat to aerated concrete - here fixing is carried out not to the blocks themselves, but to the reinforced belt, which is poured with concrete - the strength of this pouring is quite high and able to withstand not only the weight of the roof, but strong wind gusts. But for hanging furniture, you will not fill the wall with mortar, so it’s best to screw the screw at a slight angle - this will significantly increase the fixing strength.

From a technical point of view, the fastening of windows in aerated concrete is not much different from the installation of the same doors - and one and the other is inserted into the opening, only here it is better to go for a little trick. Under the door or window box, it is best to make something like a groove in the blocks, so that it would hold not only on screws with dowels, but also be restrained by the wall itself, as shown in the upper image.

When buying any items for fixing, you need to pay attention to the permissible load - it is usually indicated by the manufacturer on the branded products. If the dry density varies between 400 and 500 kg / m³ The tensile strength varies accordingly (can change by a factor of 2-3).
