Laminate appeared on the construction market in Russia not so long ago, but, nevertheless, it has already managed to gain popularity among homeowners. This is due to its practicality, aesthetics and the possibility of mounting on various types of surfaces. In particular, it is not particularly difficult to lay the laminate on the concrete floor with your own hands, which we now consider.

Preparatory work

2. when tilting from 2 to 5 centimeters - first leveling concrete screed is poured. Over it the self-leveling mix is ​​applied;

The modern market offers home craftsmen a variety of substrate options.

Consider the main types of these products:

• polyethylene foam - the most affordable option. It provides good thermal insulation, does not thin out during operation and is unattractive to insects and rodents. Its disadvantage is the need for laying on a perfectly level floor;

• polystyrene foam - creates good heat and sound insulation. In addition, it is durable, easy to install and is able to compensate for minor flaws in the concrete base. The disadvantage of this product is a higher price compared with polyethylene foam;
• cork with bitumen - The most expensive version of the substrate. In addition to excellent thermal insulation properties, it also has the ability to sanitize air, has microventilation and a long service life.

Choose a product need for two main factors. This is the cost and condition of the concrete surface.

Tip! Prior to installation, all problems associated with the placement of pipes and other communications in the cavity of the floor should be solved. In particular, this may require diamond drilling holes in concrete or other labor-intensive operations.

Installation of counterfeit material is performed on top of the vapor barrier. In this case, we note that when using foamed polyethylene it is not needed.

Next, around the perimeter of the room is glued damper tape. Then, in the case of using the roll substrate, it rolls out and fits along the entire length of the room against the walls, but without overlaying them.

The rolled sheets of material are put without overlap, butt against each other. The joints of the material are taped with masking tape. The result is a flat surface, perfectly suitable for the subsequent installation of the laminate.

The first thing you need to unpack these products and put them for 2 days in the room in which they will be mounted. This is necessary so that they can adapt to the temperature conditions of the room, which will facilitate their installation and will relieve you of a number of possible problems.

Further work process looks like this:

1. the first row of panels is laid out - at the same time, it is necessary to leave a distance of 1.5-2 centimeters to the walls; to do this, wedges of the same size are inserted between the wall and the part. When installing the extreme element of the excess part is cut with a hacksaw for metal or jigsaw. For a better fit of the parts to each other, they should be carefully hammered with a rubber hammer;

1. a second row of elements is established — it begins with a cut off panel, thereby creating staggered parts. After the products are connected, the assembled row is raised at an angle of 30 ° and its front edge is inserted into the slot of the first row until it stops, after which the elements are lowered down until the locking elements click into place;

1. in the manner described above, the remaining parts links are assembled;
2. assembly of the last chain of panels - has one feature. It lies in the fact that the elements need to be customized not only along their length, but also along the width.

Tip! When laminate is being laid on concrete, it may be necessary to prepare holes for pipes coming out of the floor. This should be done in such a way that in the end there remains a gap equal to 1 centimeter. Subsequently, it can be closed with a special socket.
