How do weight and dimensions of claydite-concrete blocks
In this article, we will look at how much the claydite-concrete block weighs, what its standard sizes are and how these parameters affect the technical characteristics of building materials.
But, before proceeding to the consideration of the parameters of the finished blocks, we will discuss the main characteristics of cement-containing mortars, in which expanded clay is used as a filler.

Properties of the source material

At present, a wide range of mortars based on Portland cement are commonly used. Of all the variety of these materials, keramzite concrete is characterized by the lowest density.
Despite the fact that this type of mortar is divided into light and heavy modifications, in the thickness of all these varieties there is a large number of micropores. Low density, in this case, is combined with a small mass (on average, the volume weight of expanded clay concrete in 1 m3, depending on the brand, varies in the range of 300-1000 kg).
Of course, the parameters of density and gravity are characteristic not only of a liquid or semi-liquid solution, but also of products molded with their use. For example, wall claydite-concrete blocks are considered one of the lightest and least dense of all building blocks, not counting the modifications made of cellular concrete.
Returning to the parameters of the source materials, we note that the claydite-concrete weighing 1 m3 of at least 350 kg is used as a thermal insulation material. At the same time, solutions weighing up to 1,700 kg are structural and can be used for casting monolithic walls or for the manufacture of prefabricated structures.
Properties of prefabricated wall blocks

The blocks cast from expanded clay concrete are constructive elements with a clearly marked configuration, frame sizes and weight. The parameters of these structural elements must comply with the requirements of GOST 6133-99.
Ceramsite concrete blocks represent a wall stone from which the bearing walls and partitions of low-rise building objects are erected.
Important: When building high-rise buildings, the wall stone is used in combination with a reinforced concrete frame, which provides additional strength to the building.
The weight of the claydite-concrete block is a very important parameter, knowing that it can be assumed what the parameters of density, strength and water resistance of the wall material are.
As already mentioned, from a wide range of cement-containing solutions, keramsit concrete is one of the lightest formulations. Moreover, the parameters of mass, density and strength are inextricably linked.
Thus, the smaller the mass of the finished product made of expanded clay concrete, the lower its density. Again, a small degree of material density is a guaranteed large number of micropores.
It is no secret that a large number of pores in the thickness of the material turn into a decrease in the strength characteristics of concrete. Conversely, the greater the density parameters, the smaller the micropores in the thickness of the material, and, consequently, the greater the mass, the higher the strength properties of the product and the higher its price.
Factors determining the weight of the wall stone

The specific weight of claydite-concrete is determined by the content of the main components of Portland cement and quartz sand, as well as the amount of aggregate. The aggregate based on a particular volume has a minimal effect on the total mass of the solution, since it is in itself a light porous material.
Expanded clay is made of clay, which is subjected to strong heating during the production process (temperatures above +1000? C). As a result of heating, a large part of the moisture is removed from the clay, and therefore the mass of the aggregate is insignificant (on average 200-400 kg / 1 m?, Depending on the brand).
The more Portland cement is in the mortar, the stronger the finished product will be. But, at the same time, with an increase in the content of Portland cement, the weight of the solution and the mass of the product cast from it increase.
Important: There is a relationship between the weight characteristics, strength and thermal conductivity of expanded clay. The higher the mass and strength, the greater the density of the material and, as a result, it is much colder.
Standard sizes and weight, with reference to various modifications of blocks

Despite the fact that the main classical type of mortar is used in the production of wall stones, the weight of the finished products is different. Let's try to figure out why.
The classic composition of the components included in the expanded clay concrete is as follows:
- 6 parts of claydite (fraction up to 10 mm);
- 3 pieces of quartz sand;
- 1 part of cement is not lower than M300 grade;
- 1 part of water.
The difference in the gravity of the finished products, despite the same composition, is due to different block sizes and the number of slots. At present, the requirements of GOST clearly make it clear what wall stones and how much should weigh.

As an example, we present the parameters of various modifications of expanded clay concrete blocks:
- SKTs-1R (double-hollow) with dimensions of 390 * 190 * 188 mm - 14.7 kg;
- SKTs-1L (double-hollow) - 390 * 190 * 188 mm - 17.5 kg;
- CCC-1RG (7th Polevoi) - 390 * 190 * 188 mm - 16.8 kg;
- CCC-1RG 01 / 01С (7 th islands) - 390 * 190 * 188 mm - 12.2 kg;
- SKTs-3R (partition) - 390 * 90 * 188 mm - 9.7 kg;
- SKTs-3P 01 / 01S (partition) - 390 * 90 * 188 mm - 5.1 kg;
- SKTs-3R-80 (partition) - 390 * 80 * 188 - 8.4 kg;
- SKTs-3R-80 01 / 01S (partition) - 390 * 80 * 188 - 5.1 kg;
- SKTs-14R (smooth ordinary) - 196 * 140 mm / 390 * 188 mm - 10.9 kg;
- SKTs-14P 01 / 01S (smooth ordinary) - 196 * 140 mm / 390 * 188 mm - 7 kg;
- SKTs-1PRP 01 / 01S (corpulent) - 390 * 190 * 188 mm - 16.9 kg;
- SKTs-1С (4th hollow pillar) - 390 * 390 * 188 mm - 34.3 kg;
- SCC-25L (full-bodied) - 250 * 188 * 120 mm - 12.8 kg.
Construction height and load calculation

Recently, many compatriots have used light wall stones to build low-rise country houses with their own hands, mainly for residential purposes.
Immediately the question arises, how many floors can be built in height, taking into account the fact that the interfloor overlappings will be traditional, that is, made of dense heavy concrete?

When deciding how to behave the laying of expanded clay concrete wall stones, it is necessary to consider the following parameters:
- bulk weight of the product and brand of compressive strength;
- masonry mortar;
- wall height from floor to floor;
- height and width of window and door openings;
- distance between adjacent doorways;
- standard sizes and configuration of the reinforced concrete frame (if such is provided by the project).
However, due to its high consumer qualities and unique technical characteristics, expanded clay wall stones can be used to build walls over 8 meters high. If there is a well-designed and correctly made reinforced concrete structure of strength, buildings with a height of more than 10 floors can be erected from wall blocks, regardless of the parameters of interfloor floors.
Conclusion
So, we examined what the parameters of products made of expanded clay, and in addition, we learned what the instructions for their use. Based on the above, it can be assumed that determining the feasibility of acquiring this building material, one should not consider the weight, sizes and other characteristics of the blocks separately, since all these parameters are interrelated.
