How and what to warm aerated concrete. the use of mineral

Building

After the construction of a building of such convenient blocks, as a rule, the question arises, what is to insulate aerated concrete walls in order to achieve maximum thermal insulation of the room? And in fact, despite the fact that aerated concrete itself is quite warm material, in the northern regions of our country is not enough.

Below we will talk about suitable materials for this, find out how they fit, and also see the thematic video in this article, as a supplement to what has been said.

External warming of walls with mineral wool

Thermal insulation of aerated concrete blocks

Materials

Mineral wool
  • GOST 31913-2011 indicates that the mineral wool includes glass, stone (basalt) and slag wool, each of which has excellent thermal insulation properties. This material is the product of glass melts, volcanic eruptions of rocks and blast furnace slag, respectively, and any of them can be used for both thermal and sound unloaded insulation of buildings and communications. It may have a foiled surface on one or two sides, which is very convenient for installation.
  • It is produced either in rolls of different widths, or in blocks, where the dimensions can also be different, although the rolls and blocks have the same standard of thickness, which varies from 20 mm to 200 mm every 10 mm.. This is exactly what makes warming walls made of aerated concrete very convenient, if there is a laying of front or ordinary bricks over it.

Also, this material is also suitable for internal warming, but only in those cases if drywall or other panels are laid over it.

Note. If the insulation is made from the outside, then there is a high probability of moisture access. In this regard, the use of slag is undesirable - there are small particles of iron ore, which react with water and oxygen (rust), as a result of which the material will shrink.

  • Хорошо знакомый всем пенопласт относится газонаполненным пластмассам и в качестве теплоизоляционного материала для промышленного и гражданского строительства производится в панелях 1000×1000 мм. Its thickness can be 20, 30, 40, 50 or 100 mm, but in any case, the panel remains square.

Thermal insulation quality of the product depends not only on the thickness, but also on the density of the material, which for the above needs is 15kg / m3 and 25kg / m3 - Fifteenth and twenty-fifth density (colloquial designation).

  • Polyfoam is very convenient for laying as thermal insulation - it is well cut and easy to assemble, in addition, the wall insulated with it can serve as a rough basis for decorative plaster of any kind. But in such cases, only twenty-fifth density is used, since the fifteenth is too weak (crumbles) for such loads.
Extruded polystyrene foam
  • Extruded polystyrene foam (also referred to as polyfoam, technoplex, stylex, etc.) is visually very similar to foam plastic, although it is fundamentally different in manufacturing methods.. Панель имеет размеры 1200×600 мм, а толщину от 10 мм до 100 мм через каждые 10 мм.

Due to high density - 35kg / cm3 and 45kg / cm3 - its heat-insulating properties exceed the parameters of the foam, but the price because of this is much higher.

Installation of mineral wool

Mounting principle

We consider how to insulate aerated concrete walls and in this situation we will use mineral wool in rolls or blocks (thickness will be selected depending on the thickness of the bearing wall and the climatic conditions of the region).

Since such insulation cannot be bearing, it means that after laying the insulation, the cladding will be installed and most likely it will be brickwork, although it is quite possible that it will be siding.

The principle of fastening mineral wool

If you decide to finish the house with sidinkom or ceramic granite tiles, then you will need a frame (batten) for this and the principle of installation here will change a little.

Cotton wool stays on the bracket

If you started facing the house with siding or porcelain tile, then first of all you need to install brackets for the installation of the batten, if this frame is metal.

Therefore, after installing all the consoles before you start exposing profiles, you need to insulate the wall with mineral wool, and for this you just prick it onto these brackets, trying to ensure that there are no gaps anywhere, and if they do, just fill them additional chunks.

Now, after laying the thermal insulation, install the vapor-permeable film in the same way (rough side inward and smooth - outward).

All thermal insulation together with the hydro-barrier will be supported on the sheathing brackets, but nevertheless, carefully examine the entire wall and in those places where it is necessary, additionally fix the created blanket with funnel-shaped impact dowels.

And only after all these works, as the instruction provides, can you mount the batten profiles for further cladding of the building. For the internal insulation of foam concrete, the principle of installation of mineral wool does not change.

Installation of mineral wool between profiles

In those cases when you mount the siding on a wooden sheathing, first of all, transverse (bearing) slats are installed, the thickness of which should correspond to the thickness of the mineral wool.

You will already insert the insulation itself between these slats, as in the photo above, and then close it with a vapor-permeable film or, at worst, with dense cellophane. After that, the vertical crate is mounted.

Installation of foam и экструзионного пенополистирола

Installation of foam

Continuing to consider how to warm a house of aerated concrete, we now pay attention to the foam or extruded polystyrene foam - the principle of installation remains unchanged. Most often, such a material for insulation is used for decorative plaster, therefore, its attachment must be very durable, since such thermal insulation will serve as a rough base (find out here how to warm the concrete floor).

If you use polystyrene, you should have at least 5 dowel fungi per one panel, although some save material by mounting the corner dowels exactly at the corners of the sheet in order to fix the corners of the four panels with one cap. For extruded polystyrene, given its high density, you can use two dowel fungi, placing them on opposite sides when attaching the panels.

But some dowels will not be enough - they impose tile adhesive on the inside of the panel - around the perimeter of the sheet and in the middle, sticking it to aerated concrete, and only after that fix the foam (extruded polystyrene foam) with impact fungi-dowels. After installing the entire insulation, the seams between the panels and the caps of the dowels are sealed with tile glue.

Note. Any cutting of reinforced concrete with diamond circles, as well as diamond drilling of holes in concrete must be carried out before installing insulation, so as not to cause inconvenience in processing.
