Building

The last decade in private construction has again become popular construction of houses from a bar or logs.

Such popularity is explained by the owners of already implemented projects with the special warmth and comfort of new homes.

Wood is the best material for home

The material is not only environmentally friendly, but also fills the house with a unique smell and comfort, and besides, wood has many properties that are inaccessible to other materials. The felling perfectly retains heat, with proper processing of logs, the wood practically does not burn, and in it the pests that can destroy it do not start. It is fair to assume that such buildings are most often erected in areas that are located not far from places where there are sufficient resources. That is why the houses from bar in Mordovia are very popular.

Coniferous and deciduous forests dominate in the western part of this republic, and the wood extracted there is of the highest quality, and at the same time not as expensive as in areas devoid of this material.

New technologies - new materials

Since ancient times, houses were built from solid logs. Carpenters cut branches, removed the bark, and after some time needed to dry the logs, they were allowed into construction. Modern technologies make it possible to use not only solid, but also glued laminated timber, for example, from cedar, the method of production of which makes it possible not to reduce deforestation and to obtain a more durable and reliable material.

If you are going to get a new housing, built from logs or other similar materials, then you should know that it is quite possible to perform such work yourself. Of course, for this you need to be able to handle carpentry tools, as well as know the basic technology of construction work.

If you have previously worked with a plane, a chainsaw, a hacksaw and an ax, then you can cope with it, and the following instructions will help in the construction of the future dwelling.

Laying the foundation

Since wooden houses belong to the category of non-heavy buildings, you need to choose the appropriate foundation.

In this case, you can opt for the following types.

  1. Ribbon. The most versatile and frequently used, however, its price forces one to look for a cheaper alternative, since a large amount of reinforcing materials and concrete are used for it.
  2. Concrete slab. In marshy areas or on excessively heaving soils, this type of foundation is indispensable. But even more reinforcement and concrete are used to build it, so if the soil on which you are going to build a house does not have surface groundwater, then it is better to use a cheaper structure.
  3. Columnar. For the construction of lightweight buildings on a normal ground is the most appropriate foundation. It is quite cheap and not difficult to build. Therefore, if you are going to build a house yourself, then you should opt for it.

It is quite possible to make a columnar foundation alone in two or three days. First you need to mark the contours of the future base. Then along all the walls, at all their intersections and corners, ditches are dug out. The distance between the pillars should not exceed two meters, and the depth should be 25-40 cm below the level of freezing at your latitudes.

After the wells have been made using a hand drill, they must be prepared for pouring concrete. To do this, we fall asleep on the bottom of a gravel bed 10-15 cm thick, and install a reinforcing frame of metal rods with a cross section of 12-16 mm.

So that the pillars are not destroyed by moisture, it is necessary to make a waterproofing. To do this, a cylinder is made of two layers of roofing material, the diameter of which will be slightly less than the diameter of the well. After the reinforcement cage and the waterproofing tube are in place, the well is filled with concrete.

After concreting all the pillars, the grillage is poured, connecting them into one integral structure. After letting the foundation harden for 3-5 days, proceed to the construction of the walls.

Council If desired, the pillars can be made of brick or rubble stone. However, if the soil is saturated with moisture, it is best to use ready-made piles, screw or hammer.

Raise the walls and put the roof

Almost all bar-shaped houses from Mordovia are built according to the following technology. On top of the grillage fit waterproofing, which is made of two layers of roofing material, then proceed to the manufacture of a salary. The salary is the first belt of a bar on which floor logs will be laid in the future.

Corner joints are made of the type "oblique paw" with the obligatory laying of tow and fastening them with iron brackets. After the salary is ready, it is impregnated with a liquid that prevents rotting, to which you can add a little stain.

When building walls of logs or beams, joints are used with wooden joists, which must be hammered with great effort. The crowns of the log are assembled with the obligatory driving of the folded tree in three or four. This will prevent your home, not only from drafts, but also from the penetration of moisture. After the last crown is made, a ceiling is arranged and a roof is erected.

Council Instead of tow, you can use mounting foam. It also keeps warm well and does not let moisture through.

The rafter system in most cases is made dvukhskatnaya, because it is well recommended in private construction. The crate is laid along the entire length of the roof every 40 cm. Waterproofing is laid on the crate, in the role of which again you can use roofing material. The last stage is fastening the roofing material to the lath with special screws, after which your wooden house is ready.

Conclusion

Mordovian glued timber is widely used not only by companies engaged in construction work, but also by private developers. It will not be more difficult to build a house with your own hands from such material than from an ordinary solid log, but at the same time the timber will not crack or deform.
