Building

Very often there is a situation when it is necessary to obtain a high strength of concrete pavements, and the layer should be small. As practice has shown, the easiest way is to use the elastobeton additive - it is very simple to work with it, and the project cost increases slightly. Depending on what properties the surface should acquire, various options are used, which we will consider in this article.

In the photo - elastobeton, which is used not only for strengthening. It can make an excellent finish

The main advantages of this option

Consider what caused the wide popularity of additives.

The main factors include the following:

  • Thanks to him it is easy to reduce the thickness of the concrete screed, which in some cases is a fundamental factor. In addition, fewer materials are consumed, the workflow is simplified and the load on building structures is reduced.
  • Unlike similar options, adding a component allows you to achieve the strength of the material throughout its thicknessand not only in the upper layer of 3-5 millimeters. Due to this, the highest reliability of the coating is achieved - it is able to successfully withstand the highest loads and deformation effects.
  • The surface after hardening has a very high wear resistance. and is able to withstand even a large flow of visitors.
  • Solution shrinkage is reduced by 60-70%, which allows to reduce the number of seams on the surface and increase the aesthetic appeal of flooring.
  • The base after drying can be used both for applying polymer coatings or various kinds of impregnations, as well as a full floor. In this case, in the process of work, the plane should be especially carefully smoothed and rubbed. The process itself is practically no different from the usual topping.
This floor looks attractive and without additional processing.
  • If necessary, the pigment is evenly distributed throughout the volume., which allows not to worry about the fact that if the surface is damaged, there will be scratches on it.
  • Elastobeton allows you to work at ambient temperatures of up to -5 degrees without the danger of freezing solution.
  • The term of commissioning of the facility is reduced by 3-4 timesthat allows you to work as quickly as possible. Now it is not necessary to wait the whole month of set of operational durability.

Note! In addition to all the above advantages, it is worth noting that the surface becomes much more resistant to moisture, despite the fact that it is vapor-permeable, and this allows moisture to leave the base, and antistatic, which ensures less pollution.

With the addition of material, the screed with a thickness of only 4 cm ensures the highest reliability - ceramics on such a basis is excellent

Types of additives and their advantages

It should be noted that there are three types of modifying additives (in the people they are often called "elastic concrete"), each of them is denoted by a letter, so it’s easy to understand their features.

Type A

Elastobeton A is used to increase the strength characteristics of a concrete material and to improve a number of properties:

Strength Compared with ordinary concrete, the performance is increased by 70-110%
Impact resistance Increases by 2-3 times
Water resistant The surface practically does not absorb water
Frost resistance Work can be carried out at temperatures up to -5 degrees
Terms of strength 8 days (with the usual period of 28 days)

Through the use of additives, it is possible to reduce the layer thickness to 4 cm and eliminate such an expensive and time-consuming process as reinforcement. When working with your own hands, the process is much faster, since it does not require surface treatment (topping) to increase strength.

It is best to level the surface with a special device that can be rented.

The use of this option is very convenient for the following reasons:

  • No need for surface treatment.
  • Finishing can be done in various ways: smoothing down, grinding, polishing, using various varnishes and impregnations.

Tip! For dedusting the surface is best suited for special impregnation on a polymer base (sealer).

Type B

Elastobeton B is distinguished by unsurpassed reliability and practicality indicators:

  • Indicators of strength, depending on the type of filler used, can range from M600 to M1200, which allows the use of such floors in industry and engineering.
Coatings in industrial premises must meet the highest reliability requirements.
  • It is very easy to apply the additive, the instruction itself is quite simple - 20 liters of mortar and thorough mixing are necessary for 100 kg of cement.
  • The price of the project is reduced due to the fact that the minimum layer is only 15 mm, with moderate loads - 20 mm, with large loads - 30 mm.
  • The floor can be operated after 5-6 days.

Type B

Elastobet B has a number of properties that make it almost unique:

  • The minimum coating thickness is only 4 mm, the recommended one is from 5 to 8 mm, if the surface is subjected to significant loads, the layer should be from 8 to 15 mm.
  • The resulting strength varies in the range of M400-M500.
  • It is extremely simple to carry out the work, the solution is prepared on site and stirred by the construction mixer.
  • The highest wear resistance allows you to use this type of coating in office buildings, shopping centers and other places with high traffic.
  • It can be used both inside and outside the premises.
Even a thin layer provides excellent strength.

Conclusion

If you need a durable coating that you can make yourself, elastobeton will be a great solution. The video in this article will highlight some of the features of working with additives.
